Peace is the result of casting our care upon the Lord through prayer and thanksgiving. However, many people are asking God to give them peace so that their cares will leave. It doesn't work that way. Through faith we cast our cares on the Lord, and then God's peace comes. Christians who are lacking God's peace have not taken their cares to the Lord and left them there. All Christians have peace. It is a fruit of the Spirit that is always present in our born-again spirits. Cares will blind us to God's peace. When we eliminate the cares, peace flows.

I often wonder why there are conflicts and striving amongst Christians, given they are no longer in the old man but now in Christ. If you wonder like me, then our answer has come: our lusts. Upon our acceptance of Christ, our nature was changed to the nature of Christ, which is devoid of any iniquity. Our minds however need to me transformed daily to meet the status of our changed nature (Romans 12:2). In this process we are to yield ourselves continually to God, and whatever we do, we do them unto Him (Romans 14:7-8). That means all our desires should be unto God, and in line with His will.

After hours and hours of cleaning and sorting, bags of stuff sat by the front door to be thrown away, donated, or recycled. But at the end of this exhausting process was a beautiful room I was excited to spend time in.
