Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional October 28, 2016 - Enjoy the Victory

Topic: Enjoy the Victory [October 28, 2016]

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 15:57, The Amplified Bible

Victors! More than conquerors! That's what the Bible says we are. I know you've heard that many times before, but today I want you to let the reality of it really sink in. I want you to spend some time meditating about what those terms actually mean.

Billy Graham’s daily devotional October 28, 2016 - Genuine Love

Topic: Genuine Love [October 28, 2016]

. . . being knit together in love . . . — Colossians 2:2

Thousands of young couples go through with a loveless marriage because no one ever told them what genuine love is. I believe we need to read the 13th chapter of First Corinthians, in which the Apostle Paul gives us a definition of love. He says, “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.

Our Daily Bread devotional, October 28, 2016 - Learning to Count

Topic: Learning to Count [October 28, 2016]

Read: Psalm 139:14–18, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 15–17; 2 Timothy 2

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! Psalm 139:17

My son is learning to count from one to ten. He counts everything from toys to trees. He counts things I tend to overlook, like the wildflowers on his way to school or the toes on my feet.

Winning Wisdom: Follow Jesus III

Author: Ese Ehimare Dave
Topic: Follow Jesus [Friday, 28th Oct. 2016]

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

In John 10:4, scriptures say: "and when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice." Very importantly, as we follow Jesus, we must make sure we are always on the right path He is leading us through. It is very essential that we get to know the voice of Jesus, so that the deceptive voice of Satan will not lure us away from the path the Lord is leading us in. This is a very crucial part in our walk with our Good Shepherd - knowing His voice.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily devotional October 27, 2016 – In the Midst of the Storm

Today’s Scripture: “...he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.” - (Matthew 5:45, NLT)

Topic: In the Midst of the Storm [October 27, 2016]

We all have opportunities to get upset and live stressed out. The storms of life come to every person. No matter how good a person you are, you’re going to have some “rain” in your life. When these storms come, a lot people use their faith to try to control their circumstances. But I’ve found it’s better to use my faith to control myself in the midst of my circumstances. I know that if I can just remain stable in the storms of life and stay in peace, that’s what allows God to act on my behalf.

Joyce Meyer's daily devotional October 27, 2016 – A Heart of Obedience

Topic: A Heart of Obedience [October 27, 2016]

But thank God, though you were once slaves of sin, you have become obedient with all your heart to the standard of teaching in which you were instructed and to which you were committed - Romans 6:17

Paul wrote that the believers in Rome were obedient with all their heart. This was important because it is possible to have halfhearted obedience—to be reluctantly obedient in behavior, but not be joyfully obedient with all your heart.

Fiscal federalism and economic recession

Written by the Editorial Board of The Guardian Newspaper

Nigerian state is, with scientific and statistical precision, in recess after six months of consecutive negative records (two quarters) in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It cannot be denied that the present Nigeria’s economic explosion is a “cyclical burst”, which origin is traceable to the “missing gap” or “failed wisdom” during the period of “boom cycle”. Neither is it a sudden explosion when the National Bureau of Statistics is there to release quarterly economic reports on the direction and health of the economy.

Open Heavens 27 October 2016: Thursday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Cost of Discipleship

Topic: Cost of Discipleship [Thursday 27, October 2016]

Memorise: And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. – Luke 14:27

DCLM Daily Manna October 27, 2016 by Pastor Kumuyi – Divinely Protected

Topic: Divinely Protected [October 27, 2016]

Text: 2 Kings 6:8-12

Key Verse: "And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber" (2 Kings 6:12).

Testimonies abound of God's divine intervention in the lives of people through the prayer ministration and words of prophesy by genuine men of God. Many have testified of how they were restrained from embarking on a journey or taking certain decisions through the utterances of these generals of God.

Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional October 27, 2016 - Don't Depend on Guesswork

Topic: Don't Depend on Guesswork [October 27, 2016]

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. - Jeremiah 33:3

Who do you turn to when you need help, when you need an important answer to an important question? Do you ask God first?

Billy Graham’s daily devotional October 27, 2016 - True Colors

Topic: True Colors [October 27, 2016]

God carefully watches the goings on of all mankind . . . — Job 34:21 (TLB)

There is an old story that tells about a pig. . . . The farmer brought the pig into the house. He gave him a bath, polished his hooves, put some Chanel No. 5 on him, put a ribbon around his neck, and put him in the living room. The pig looked fine. He made a nice and companionable pet for a few minutes. But as soon as the door was opened, the pig left the living room and jumped into the first mud puddle that he could find. Why? Because he was still a pig at heart. His nature had not been changed. He had changed outwardly but not inwardly. . . .

Our Daily Bread devotional, October 27, 2016 - Stage by Stage

Topic: Stage by Stage [October 27, 2016]

Read: Numbers 33:1–15, 36–37, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 12–14; 2 Timothy 1

At the Lord's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. Numbers 33:2

Numbers 33 is a chapter in the Bible we might pass by without reflection. It appears to be nothing more than a long list of places tracing Israel's pilgrimage from Rameses in Egypt to their arrival in the plains of Moab. But it must be important because it’s the only section in Numbers that follows with the words: “At the Lord’s command Moses recorded . . .” (v. 2).

Winning Wisdom: Follow Jesus II

Topic: Follow Jesus 2 [Thursday, 27th Oct. 2016]

Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. Mark 10:28

Sometimes, we, like Peter did in our text, tell the Lord, "Lord I have left all, and followed you. What's in it for me?" Is it wrong to ask this question? From the response of Jesus, which we are going to see, no, it is not wrong. It is a valid question. We need to know what is in it for us as we follow Jesus. God is delighted to let us know, so that we can explore all that is in it for us to the fullest. Jesus said to his followers in Luke 12:32 - "fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

He Knows Your Street

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: He Knows Your Street [27/10/2016]

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:9a. Read: Acts 9:10-12

When some people are going through tough times, you hear them asking God questions through their prayers, "God where are you, can't you see what I'm going through?" Some other people would say, "If indeed God sees and knows, why would He allow this thing to happen to me?" God is Omniscience,God that knows and sees all things because His eyes are upon the earth and all things are naked before Him.
