Former Delta State Governor, Felix Ibru, is dead

Felix Ibru who served as the first executive governor of Delta State, is dead.

A family source told online newspaper Saharareporters that Mr. Ibru died in a Lagos hospital following a protracted illness.

He was aged 80.

Ibru was elected Delta governor on the platform of the  Social Democratic Party between 1992 and 1993.

He was sacked when the military junta led by late general Sanni Abacha sacked all civilian governors in a bloodless coup.
