Winning Wisdom: Faithful in Little

Topic: Faithful in Little [Thursday, 20th April 2017]

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10

Every one of us wants more. More knowledge; more money; more friends; more time for what we think we cannot do with little time. However, not every one of us who desires more can actually handle and utilize effectively the more we crave, if given. Most of us have been in a situation where we have to compulsorily carry out a certain activity for the most part of our day. For instance, attend classes, business meetings, seminars, workshops from 8am till 4pm. By the time you get back to your place of abode, there seems to be so little time, and you need to rest, eat, read, and do some other things. But you're unable to do so because by the time you're done eating and resting, there's no more time, and you wished you had more time. Then you get a free day! We can testify that very few of us actually use that free day productively, while the bulk of us still find ourselves wishing at the end of that free day that we had more time.Truth is if you can't utilized 4hours effectively, then 12hours would amount to a waste! If you can't invest N40,000 wisely, then N700,000,000 will go to the wind.

So it is with the work of God and His ministry placed under your care: if you can't look after that one soul given to you, how do you expect to lead 10 persons. Or if your heart lifts up in pride for that successful local outreach, how do you think it will be if God promotes you, the way you are, to host a huge international crusade? The truth is God cannot commit His vision to unfaithful men, as they would only squander it, and destroy themselves in the process, and God cares too much for His pople and His vision, to let such happen. This is what Christ says in Luke 16:11, "if therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?".

Another reason He wouldn't give more until we are faithful with the little He has given is because to whom much is given, much is expected (Luke 12:48), and He wouldn't give you much, knowing that much cannot be expected from you in return. Be faithful first with that which you have now before asking for some more, because He would only commit to faithful men (2 Timothy 2:2).

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your perfect knowledge of me, and the little that You've placed under my care. Help me to be faithful in this little before committing much to me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
