Topic: There Is Power In The Name Of Jesus — Monday October 30, 2017.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” Philippians 2:9 (KJV)
Beloved, as children of God I believe that we have no doubt about the power that is in the name of Jesus. According to the bible, God gave Jesus a name that is above all names. The name was bestowed upon him. He also earned it when he spoilt principalities and powers. Because of this, God gave him a name and said I will raise you above principalities and powers. And when Jesus was ascending into heaven, he gave that name to the church and said in my name you shall cast out devils. But the question is how many believers are mentioning that name?
Do you know that one of the strategies of the devil is to muzzle the mouth of the believer so that we don’t talk about Jesus? Do you know that the devil doesn’t mind us having church, as long as we do not preach Jesus? He will rather we call God but not preach about Jesus, because Jesus is the one who spoilt principalities and powers. It was Jesus who shed his blood in order to redeem us so we can look up and call God Father. It was Jesus who took our sins upon himself so that we can become the righteousness of God and now we have access to God. And because we have access because of Jesus, the devil hates him with a passion.
When you mention the name of Jesus, the devil does not see you but the one who destroyed him in his own very domain. That is why there is so much power when you mention the name of Jesus. So what are you doing with this name? When last did you just lie on your bed and close your eyes and begin to call his name? A song writer said “Jesus oh Jesus how I love calling your name. Jesus oh Jesus, everyday your name is the same.” When last did you shut your eyes from every pressure and from everything the devil is doing and you begin to call his name and just love him? In the name of Jesus I declare you blessed.
