Living in Love by Victoria Osteen

Joel and Victoria Osteen

Look for the Best in Each Other

I once heard about a husband and wife who were so upset after a big argument that they refused to speak to each other. That night, not wanting to be the first to break the awkward silence, the man left a note on his wife’s side of the bed that read, “wake me up at 6 o’clock in the morning.”

The next morning, by the time the husband woke up, it was already 8 o’clock. Furious, he roared, “Where is she?” and was about to chew out his wife when he found a note on his side of the bed: “It’s six o’clock; wake up.”

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 10, 2017 devotional: File it Away

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 10, 2017 devotional: File it Away

Today’s Scripture: "Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me." - (Psalm 131:1, NKJV)

Topic: File it Away [Friday November 10, 2017]

When things happen in your life that you don’t plan, do you find yourself trying to reason it all out or look for a “file,” so to speak, in your mind to put it in? What happens when you can’t reason it out or make sense of it all?

Here’s the answer: Every one of us needs to create a file in our thinking called the “I Don’t Understand It” file. When things come up that don’t make sense, things that you can’t figure out, instead of getting frustrated or confused, put it in your “I Don’t Understand It” file and leave it alone. If you go through life trying to figure out why something bad happened or why things didn’t work out, it will cause you to become bitter and stuck in life. Part of trusting God means trusting Him when things don’t make sense because we know that His plan is always for good. We have to know that He will reveal all things in His time—even if that means in eternity.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 9, 2017 devotional: True Comfort

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 9, 2017 devotional: True Comfort

Today’s Scripture: "As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you…" - (Isaiah 66:13, NIV)

Topic: True Comfort [Thursday November 9, 2017]

Oftentimes when people face challenges, their natural tendency is to seek comfort in things that are familiar. It may be work, an activity or relationships; and of course, we all know about “comfort food.” But those things only bring temporary comfort. True comfort is only found in a relationship with Jesus.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s Daily November 8, 2017 devotional: Your Ever-Present Help

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s Daily November 8, 2017 devotional: Your Ever-Present Help

Today’s Scripture: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." - (Psalm 46:1, NIV)

Topic: Your Ever-Present Help [Wednesday November 8, 2017]

God is always with you. That means He is present at all times - continually, perpetually, throughout all time. In your day of trouble, He promises to be a help to you. How is He your help? “Help” means something different to each person. That’s because “help” is specific to your need. If you need money to pay your bills, a chocolate cake isn’t going to be much help! But we serve a God who is very specific. And because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need and is always ready to provide it!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 7, 2017 devotional: Saying What David Said

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 7, 2017 devotional: Saying What David Said

Today’s Scripture: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14, NIV)

Topic: Saying What David Said [Tuesday November 7, 2017]

“I’m God’s masterpiece. I’m wonderfully made. I’m talented. I’m original. God has given me everything that I need.” That’s what David was saying in Psalm 139. He praised God for making him in an amazing way and declared that what God had done was wonderful. Is that how you started your day?

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 3, 2017 devotional: He Withholds No Good Thing

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 3, 2017 devotional: He Withholds No Good Thing

Today’s Scripture: "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless." - (Psalm 84:11, NIV)

Topic: He Withholds No Good Thing [Friday November 3, 2017]

What do you need from the Lord today? Do you need peace, provision or guidance? The Word of God promises that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk blamelessly before Him. Now you may be thinking, “Joel, I’m not perfect. How can I have a blameless walk?” The Good News is that when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you automatically have a new, blameless walk. The past is erased in God’s eyes. And sure, you may make mistakes from time to time, but 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 1, 2017 devotional: Declare the Shift is Coming!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily November 1, 2017 devotional: Declare the Shift is Coming!

Today’s Scripture: "You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways." - (Job 22:28, NKJV)

Topic: Declare the Shift is Coming! [Wednesday November 1, 2017]

Today I declare that a shift is coming. Whatever you need—a shift in your health, a shift in your finances, or a shift in a relationship. It may not look like anything is happening in the natural, but we serve a supernatural God. He’s about to breathe in your direction in a new way! The enemies you have seen in the past, you will see no more. The addictions or bad habits that have held you back are being broken in Jesus’ name. God’s favor is being released in a new way that will propel you forward. What should have taken you 40 years to accomplish, God is going to do in a split second!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 31, 2017 devotional: He Will Multiply You

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 31, 2017 devotional: He Will Multiply You

Today’s Scripture: "And I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly." - (Genesis 17:2, AMPC)

Topic: He Will Multiply You [Tuesday October 31, 2017]

God is in the multiplication business. It doesn’t matter what your need is today, God wants to increase you!

One time in the Old Testament, God simply multiplied the sound of four men’s footsteps and caused them to sound like a mighty army. When their enemies heard them coming, they took off running. Thousands of people, thousands of troops running for their lives, scared to death, thinking they were being attacked by a massive army, when in fact, it was just four people.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 30, 2017 devotional: Raise the Standard

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 30, 2017 devotional: Raise the Standard

Today’s Scripture: "Remind people to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work." - (Titus 3:1, AMPC)

Topic: Raise the Standard [Monday October 30, 2017]

What do you do to honor God? A lot of times people think, “Oh, I go to church to honor God. I read my Bible to honor God. I sing and clap in worship to honor God.” And yes, those are ways to honor God, but did you know that you also honor God when you get to work on time? You honor God when you are productive each day and respect the people who are in authority over you. You honor God when you excel in your career.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 25, 2017 devotional Before Creation

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 25, 2017 devotional Before Creation

Today’s Scripture: "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world…" - (Ephesians 1:4, NIV)

Topic: Before Creation [Wednesday October 25, 2017]

Did you know that God chose you before the foundations of the earth? Before the worlds were ever formed, He knew you. And, He didn’t create you to be average. He didn’t create you to barely get by. No, He created you to excel! Not only has He chosen you, He has equipped you with everything you need to live and thrive in this life. He has deposited seeds of greatness inside every person. But in order to tap into those seeds of greatness, you have to believe this and act on it.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 24, 2017 devotional – Enter with This

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 24, 2017 devotional – Enter with This

Today’s Scripture: "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name." - (Psalm 100:4, NKJV)

Topic: Enter with This [Tuesday October 24, 2017]

As believers, we have the honor and privilege to enter boldly into God’s presence. Scripture says that we can come to His throne of grace and receive His mercy. Because He loves us, He has given us unlimited access to Himself 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 23, 2017 devotional – Really Alive

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 23, 2017 devotional – Really Alive

Today’s Scripture: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - (John 10:10, NIV)

Topic: Really Alive [Monday October 23, 2017]

A couple of years ago, I was watching the news when Captain Sullenberger successfully landed a jet airplane in the Hudson River. All 155 passengers survived. It’s known as “The Miracle on the Hudson.” A reporter asked one passenger what he thought about it all. He was soaking wet, freezing cold, a little bit frazzled, but he had this incredible glow about him, an excitement in his voice. I’ll never forget what he told the reporter, “I was alive before, but now I’m really alive.”

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 21, 2017 devotional – Go Further, Dream Bigger

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 21, 2017 devotional – Go Further, Dream Bigger

Today’s Scripture: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - (Philippians 4:13, NKJV)

Topic: Go Further, Dream Bigger [Saturday October 21, 2017]

No matter what’s happening in your life today, remember, you are not limited by your resources, your family or your background. Almighty God has equipped and empowered you. He has given you creativity, ideas, inventions, skills and talents. Don’t you dare settle for a mediocre life! Today, call forth the seeds of greatness within you!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 20, 2017 devotional – Heavy with Favor

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 20, 2017 devotional – Heavy with Favor

Today’s Scripture: "Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you." - (Isaiah 60:1, NKJV)

Topic: Heavy with Favor [Friday October 20, 2017]

Notice that today’s verse doesn’t say that the glory of the Lord is going to come on you one day. It doesn’t say, “Maybe when the economy gets better, when you graduate from college, or when you get that good break.” No, it says God’s glory is already on you!

The word “glory” in the original language indicates that God’s favor, blessing and splendor is on you in a heavy way. It’s something that is tangible and has weight. Think about it this way: You are not less than, intimidated or weak; you are heavy with God’s favor. You are dripping with God’s goodness. Your attitude should be, “There’s no telling what’s in my future! I am weighted down, not with burdens, not with problems. I am weighted down with the favor of God.”

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 19, 2017 devotional – Victory is Always on the Way

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 19, 2017 devotional – Victory is Always on the Way

Today’s Scripture: "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…" - (2 Corinthians 2:14, NKJV)

Topic: Victory is Always on the Way [Thursday October 19, 2017]

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God promises to always lead us into victory? That means no matter what is going on in your life today, no matter what’s happening in the world around you, no matter what anybody says, you should always be thanking God because victory is always on the way!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 18, 2017 devotional – Push People Up

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 18, 2017 devotional – Push People Up

Today’s Scripture: "Two are better than one…if either of them falls down, one can help the other up…" - (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NIV)

Topic: Push People Up [Wednesday October 18, 2017]

We all need somebody to believe in us more than we believe in ourselves. We all need people who will push us up, so to speak. After all, there are enough people trying to push us down in life. There are enough people telling us what we can’t become and how we don’t have what it takes.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 17, 2017 devotional – Call Out Seeds of Greatness

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 17, 2017 devotional – Call Out Seeds of Greatness

Today’s Scripture: "…God…calls those things which do not exist as though they did." - (Romans 4:17, NKJV)

Topic: Call Out Seeds of Greatness [Tuesday October 17, 2017]

Very often, we see potential in other people that they can’t see in themselves. When you speak vision into them, when you tell them what they can become, you can help set the direction for their life. Your words have the power to push people into their divine destiny. I believe that the reason some people are not living at their full potential is because no one has ever spoken faith into them. No one has taken the time to say, “Hey, you’re great at this. You’ve got a gift here. You’re going to do something amazing.”

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 16, 2017 devotional – But God!

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 16, 2017 devotional – But God!

Today’s Scripture: "O LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! ...But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head." - (Psalm 3:1-3, NIV)

Topic: But God! [Monday October 16, 2017]

When David wrote this verse, He was in a very difficult situation. He was actually running for his life from his very own son who wanted to kill him and take over the throne. Can you imagine?! David was probably feeling overwhelmed, distraught, heartbroken, betrayed and abandoned. Have you ever felt that way? But notice that David didn’t just tell the Lord all about his problems. He told the Lord about his faith when he said, “But You, God, are a shield around me…” David made the choice to focus on God’s goodness no matter what.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 13, 2017 devotional – Pursue Loyalty

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 13, 2017 devotional – Pursue Loyalty

Today’s Scripture: "He who pursues righteousness and loyalty finds life…" - (Proverbs 21:21, NASB)

Topic: Pursue Loyalty [Friday October 13, 2017]

Have you ever noticed that righteousness and loyalty go together? In other words, if we’re not being loyal—to our family, friends, country, job—then we aren’t going to experience God’s best. Loyal people are honorable people. When you’re loyal, you stick with someone through thick and thin. When you’re loyal, you keep your word to people—even if you get a “better” offer.

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily September 8, 2017 devotional – Garment of Praise

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily September 8, 2017 devotional – Garment of Praise

Today’s Scripture:  "...Provide for those who grieve…a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." - (Isaiah 61:3, NIV)

Topic: Garment of Praise [Friday September 8, 2017]

What type of attitude are you wearing today? What’s covering your mind and emotions? Are you clothed with despair and disappointment? Are you wearing “heaviness?”

If you’ve recently gone through a hurtful or disappointing situation, there is a season to grieve a loss. It’s important to go through that process and release the hurt to God. But the Bible also says that God wants to give you a garment of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness or despair. He wants to exchange your hurt for His healing. He wants to fill you with His peace and joy.
