Memorise: He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. – Proverbs 10:5
Read: Genesis 3:7-10 (KJV)
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Topic: Trusting God Through Emotional Trials [Sunday December 31, 2017]
And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him–the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord — Isaiah 11:2
Growing into a mature Christian who follows the Holy Spirit is not something that happens overnight—it is a learning process that takes time. Little by little, one experience after another, God tries and tests our emotions, giving us opportunities to grow.
DCLM Daily Manna 31 December, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi - Drop The Sin Luggage
Topic: Drop The Sin Luggage — Sunday December 31, 2017.
Text: Psalm 114:1-8
Key Verse: "The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs" (Psalm 114:3,4).
Once, while a man lay in bed reading a book, the Lord decided to teach him some sobering lessons. Momentarily, sleep took over, his book and pen dropped off. About a minute or so later, he woke up to discover that the book and pen he firmly held had broken loose from his grip. It dawned on him that at death or end of a race, there would also be an inevitable finishing line. Every activity would cease. No secular race is endless. One would have to let go of whatever he would be holding or doing. So it is with the fixed seasons of time.
Seeds of Destiny 31 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Vision and Preservation
Topic: Vision and Preservation [Sunday December 31, 2017]
Scripture: Where there is no vision, the people perish… Proverbs 29:18
Thought For The Day: People who have no reason to live have no right to live; to see far is to live long.
Sometime ago, I came across an incredible work of research that caught my attention. The researcher got two containers that had rats in each of them. One of the containers was completely sealed and dark, it had no light but had openings for airflow. The other container was uncovered and had light for the rats to see. At the end of the period, it was discovered that both group of rats struggled to come out of their containers but could not. Now, the group of rats in the dark container that could not see anything died, whereas, the group of rats that had light and could see, survived.

Read: Lamentations 3:19–26, Bible in a Year: Malachi 1–4; Revelation 22
Great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23
As I stepped into the music-filled sanctuary, I looked around at the crowd that had gathered for a New Year’s Eve party. Joy lifted my heart with hope, as I recalled the prayers of the previous year. Our congregation had collectively grieved over wayward children, deaths of loved ones, job losses, and broken relationships. But we’d also experienced God’s grace as we recalled changed hearts and healed personal connections. We’d celebrated victories, weddings, graduations, and baptisms into God’s family. We’d welcomed children born, adopted, or dedicated to the Lord, and more—so much more.
Our Daily Manna December 31, 2017: ODM devotional: Champions Pour Forth Their Wine
Topic: Champions Pour Forth Their Wine [Sunday, December 31, 2017]
Basic Scripture: Mark 9: 30-37
Benjamin Franklin, the early American statesman and philosophy, once made a list of character traits that he desired to develop in his personal life. When he mastered and conquered one, he would to the other! He did beautifully well till he hot to humility!
He discovered that every time he was making significant progress, he would be so proud with himself that he became proud! Does is not sound absurd that you will be so proud that you are humble? We all are guilty of this [- including us pastors! Heaven wants you to develop this elusive and rare virtue/character trait in life and ministry! You did not come across this devotional write-up by accidents today! Heaven is about to do a surgical operation to disgrace all hidden pride in your life! Pride can creep into our hearts just after a powerful ministration, especially when you are told, “Oh that was a wonderful service.” Beware! The praise of men is a paralyzing force! Don’t expect it if it comes, reject it in your heart on the spot and go and ROLL FOR GOD IN A TOILET because you are dust!
TREM’s Daily 31 December 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Your Tomorrow Is Greater
Topic: Your Tomorrow Is Greater — Sunday December 31, 2017.
“For the land you are about to enter and possess is not like the land of Egypt where you are come from, where irrigation is necessary. It is a land of hills and valleys with plenty of rain – a land that the Lord your God personally cares for! His eyes are always upon it, day after day throughout the year”. - Deuteronomy 11:10-12 (TLB)
Thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ. His coming changed the face of so many things and gave us access into the presence of God. Can you imagine what that means? That simply means that you and I, by the reason of our salvation, which was neither our idea or paid for by us, can enter into the throne of grace and find grace and help in the time of need. This means that we can now come boldly into God’s presence, without the slaughtering of goats and rams. Think back into the Old Testament, no matter how many sacrifices you offer, you can never come into the Holy of Holies because it is reserved for only the High Priest and even the High Priest can come in only once in a year after going through the rigorous cleansing exercise. But today, you and I can come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need. What an awesome privilege.

Mark 16:20 "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen."
The Lord confirmed the preaching of His Word with miracles. If Jesus and the first century Christians needed the Word confirmed with the miraculous (Heb. 2:4), then we do too. There is no scripture that says these miraculous signs have passed away.

Topic: Growing in Discernment [Saturday December 30, 2017]
For a wide door of opportunity for effectual [service] has opened to me [there, a great and promising one], and [there are] many adversaries. — 1 Corinthians 16:9
Jesus lived His life by discernment. His discernment was not based on the superficial senses of His flesh—it was the result of His intimate communion and relationship with His Father God.
This same gift of discernment is available to you and me through our relationship with God.
Seeds of Destiny 30 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: From Decision To Preservation
Topic: From Decision To Preservation [Saturday December 30, 2017]
Scripture: In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him… for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD… and the word of the LORD came to him, saying…I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee. 2 Kings 20:1-6
Thought For The Day: Decision is stronger than cancer; your longevity is at the mercy of your decision.
Sometime ago, I heard the story of Dodie Osteen, the mother of Joel Osteen. In 1981, she was diagnosed of metastatic adenocarcinoma of the liver (cancer). The Doctors gave her only six weeks to live and die. Consequently, she began to emaciate beyond recognition.
DCLM Daily Manna 30 December, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi - Keep It Holy
Topic: Keep It Holy — Saturday December 30, 2017.
Text: Jeremiah 17:19-27
Key Verse: "Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers" (Jeremiah 17:22).
Sometime in the history of the children of Israel, the nation was so money-minded that they took to doing business on the revered Sabbath Day, contrary to the instruction of God which forbade it. It was not a legal code they were violating; rather they were in grave breach of centuries-old sacred pact God had made with their ancestors. As a loving God who would not want swift destruction to come upon His erring people, He sent His servant Jeremiah to warn them to amend their ways.
Our Daily Manna December 30, 2017: ODM devotional: Winners Do Not Tolerate Flattering Lips
Topic: Winners Do Not Tolerate Flattering Lips [Saturday, December 30, 2017]
Basic Scripture: Psalm 12
Welcome to another hour of grace! Note that the Son of God became the Son of man to change the change sons of men into the sons of God! That’s the key message of His incantation! And it’s a pillar stone called humility!
Psalm 12:3-4 declares without apologies: “”The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips and he tongue that speaketh proud things. Who have said, “Without out tongue we will prevail; our lip are our own, who is Lord over us?”Yes, there are proud, unseen, demonic tongues that are boasting daily that your progress in life and ministry would soon be stagnated, hindered or cut off! Yes, they boast in the sea and in their evil meetings of the night that they will prevail over you and lord themselves over you! But hear what God is sing to them:

They sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. Acts 14:26
At the end of the year, the burden of uncompleted tasks can weigh us down. Responsibilities at home and work may seem never-ending, and those unfinished today roll into tomorrow. But there are times in our journey of faith when we should pause and celebrate God’s faithfulness and the tasks completed.

“You will give me greater honor than before and turn again and comfort me.” - Ps. 71:21 (TLB)
As the year gradually draws to a close and in another 48 hours we will be celebrating a new year, I prophesy over your life that the Lord will increase you in 2018. All that you have experienced this year for good will be multiplied in your life in the coming year. The path of the just, the Bible says in Prov. 4:18, is like shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. I declare over you that your tomorrow will be greater. The Lord who has taken you through this year will perfect all that concerns you in the coming year. He will cause you to eat the riches of the gentiles and in their glory, you will make your boast (Is. 61:6). The Lord who has called you by your name will ensure that head or tail your win. He will make all things work together for your good in the year 2018.

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer....I have overcome the world. - John 16:33, The Amplified Bible
Jesus said as long as you live in the world, you're going to have trouble. (I can vouch for that!) But you're not just in the world. You're in Jesus in the world, and that makes all the difference. You're in Him and He's overcome every kind of trouble there is.

Mark 16:18 "They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
This either speaks literally of supernatural protection if we pick up a snake, or symbolically of protection in our fight against the devil. Since the other four signs in this list are literal, it is most probable that this means physically taking up snakes.

Topic: Why We Have the Bible [Saturday December 30, 2017]
These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God . . . — John 20:31
God caused the Bible to be written for the express purpose of revealing to us God’s plan for His redemption. God caused the Book to be written that He might make His everlasting laws clear to His children, and that they might have His great wisdom to guide them, and His great love to comfort them as they make their way through life. For without the Bible this world would indeed be a dark and frightening place, without signpost or beacon. The Bible easily qualifies as the only book in which God’s revelation is contained.

Our Daily Manna December 29, 2017: ODM devotional: The Trouble Tree
Topic: The Trouble Tree [Friday, December 29, 2017]
Basic Scriptures: 1 Peter 5: 1-7; Isaiah 40: 12-15
There was once a carpenter who had a tree outside the family house. Each day he came back from work, he would move straight to the tree, touch the top of the branches with both hands, force himself to smile, then hug his two little children and kiss his wife. When asked by a friend why he did that daily, here was what he said:
“That’s my trouble tree and I know I can’t help having troubles in the job, but one thing’s sure, trouble don’t belong in the house with my wife and children. So, I just hang them up in the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning, I pick them up again. Funny enough, when I come out in the morning, to pick them up, there aren’t as many I remember hanging up there.”

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” - Matt. 6:33 (KJV)
Over the last two days, we have looked at making plans for the coming year and I did emphasise the need to write down the vision and to regularly review the vision. But much as this is great, you must put God first. Let God be first in everything you do. If you don’t plan how to improve your relationship with God, you will discover that even the business plans and other plans will fall flat on the ground, because anything not built on God cannot stand.

A tenth of the produce of the land . . . is the Lord's. — Leviticus 27:30 (TLB)
We are to be stewards of our money. When it is invested and shared for the glory of God, it can be a boon and a blessing. I know a businessman in Detroit, Michigan, who made a promise to God that he would tithe his entire income to the work of the Lord. He said his business had tripled, and that God had more than fulfilled His end of the bargain.

Text: Job 32:11-22
Key Verse: "I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion" (Job 32:17).
To soothe a grieving soul requires far more than the presence of sympathizers and their fair speeches. It takes more than the mere wisdom of man or a personal experience of loss, sorrow or death. The plight of Job reveals that his friends who came to comfort him did not help matters. Elihu, who joined the three older counsellors, equally did not succeed in alleviate the condition of Job. He called for attention as he rested on these aphorisms: "Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment" (verse 9).

Sometime ago, a man met me and told me that he was diagnosed of a terminal disease. From the way he spoke, he had concluded that it was time for him to die. I asked him a question, ‘Suppose you have thirty (30) more years to live, what would you like to do or achieve?’ He said, “I know what to do sir”, and I told him to go and write them down and present them to God saying, “Lord if you keep me alive, these are what I shall achieve for You”. I also told him to consistently fill his heart with the pictures of what he wrote. And the man carried out all the instructions.

It’s important to make the right choices, especially in the middle of hurt, discouragement, frustration and confusion—when the right choice is the tough choice to make. When things are stressful, we naturally like to take the path of least resistance. But those are the very moments when making the right choice can make the greatest difference. Topic: Born Out Of Wedlock: God Is Able! [Thursday, December 28, 2017]
Basic Scripture: 2 Samuel 9:1-13
There was a boy born to an unwed mother (born out of wedlock). He had a hard time growing up because everywhere he went, he was always asked question: “Hey boy who’s your daddy?” He and his mother moved to mossy Creek (modern Jefferson City), then New market, and finally t the slums of Knoxville, USA.
His mother was unable to care for her son and placed him in St. John’s Orphanage, operated by the Episcopal Church Due to the social stigma surrounding his birth, this boy struggled as a child. He later wrote that this made him more determined to succeed. In school, he was always hiding at break and lunch times from other students, because he was a laughing stock. When he was 12 years old, a new preacher visited their local church. The boy would always go in late and slip out early to avoid hearing the question, “Who is your daddy?” But one day, the new preacher said the benediction so fast that the boy had no time to escape.

Understand and settle it deep within your heart that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for God to fail. God will not be faithful; He is FAITHFUL. His name is FAITHFUL. Thought For The Day: The weapon of sacrifice is more potent than any physical weapon of war.
Sometime ago, I went to preach in our church in Makurdi, Benue State. After I finished preaching, I had an unusual leading to ask the people to give a sacrifice to God. There was a woman who attended that meeting but had nothing to sacrifice except the clothing material (wrapper) her husband bought for her. So, she went home and brought it as her sacrifice. When her husband, who was not a born again Christian, learnt of it, he got very angry and asked her to go back to the church and collect the material.
Our Daily Bread 28 December 2017 Devotional – Everyday Moments

Read: Proverbs 15:13–15, Bible in a Year: Zechariah 5–8; Revelation 19
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:13
I piled groceries in my car and carefully exited my parking spot. Suddenly a man darted across the pavement just in front of me, not noticing my approach. I slammed on my brakes, just missing him. Startled, he looked up and met my gaze. In that moment, I knew I had a choice: respond with rolled-eye frustration or offer a smiling forgiveness. I smiled.
Billy Graham’s Daily 28 December 2017 Devotional: Cure for Our Troubles
Topic: Cure for Our Troubles [Thursday December 28, 2017]
. . . preaching peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all). — Acts 10:36
Would it not be wonderful if we could find an absolute cure for the troubles of human nature? Suppose we could give a shot in the arm to the whole human race that would fill people with love instead of hate, with contentment instead of greed. Suppose, also, a cure could be found for the past mistakes, failures, and sins of mankind.

Topic: Heaven’s Specs — Wednesday 27, December 2017
Memorise: And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. – Malachi 2:15
Read: Malachi 2:14-15 (KJV)
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Our Daily Manna December 27, 2017: ODM devotional: How To Duplicate Or Reproduce Success
Topic: How To Duplicate Or Reproduce Success [Wednesday, December 27, 2017]
Basic Scripture: 1 King 19:9-16
Welcome to today’s devotional! There is a general success law: If you want to be successful, do what successful people do. If you do not want to be a failure, observe unsuccessful people and avoid doing what they do.
God told Elijah: “Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-me-Holah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room” (1 Kings 19:16b). Elisha took over from Elijah! Eleazer took over form Aaron (Num. 20:28)! Jesus was duplicated by the 12 disciples! Joshua duplicated Moses and God wants His investment in you you to be passed to others long after you are gone because nobody lives forever! This principle applies to general life, ministry and business. To duplicate the success of an individual, organization, do the following:
Joyce Meyer's Daily 27 December 2017 Devotional: Don't Give In to Self-Pity
Topic: Don't Give In to Self-Pity [Wednesday December 27, 2017]
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. — Hebrews 11:1
Self-pity is a destructive and negative emotion. It blinds us to our blessings and the possibilities before us and it steals our hope for both today and tomorrow. People who pity themselves often think, Why should I try to do anything? I’ll just fail.
The Home: An Institution For Child Training (4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo
Topic — The Home: An Institution For Child Training (4)
Dear Reader,
This week, we will examine one of the essential parts of child training – Discipline!
Discipline means training a child to be obedient and self-controlled. It is important for you to understand that for child-training to be effective and efficient, discipline must be instilled. Until discipline is added to training, it remains only a teaching.
The Bible says: He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity (Job 36:10). Two things are mentioned in this scripture: the opening of the ear to discipline and returning from iniquity. If you do not want iniquity to be associated with your children, first, you must open their ears to discipline.

TREM’s Daily 27 December 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Write the Vision
Topic: Write the Vision — Wednesday December 27, 2017.
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” - Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)
I know this is the season of the year when many people write resolutions. Typically, these resolutions go into the trash by the end of the 1st week and if it writer is more persistent, it may go on till the end of the 1st month, but rarely does it extend to the end of the 1st quarter. But today, I am encouraging you to write the vision for the coming year. Like I said yesterday, can you see? What do you need to do to achieve the dream? What steps will you take? Document it every step of the way. Go a step further to break it down to weeks, months and then the year. Draw up action plans – what you need to do to achieve the goals.
