TREM’s Daily 23 September 2017 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Thank God For His Goodness

Topic: Thank God For His Goodness — Saturday September 23, 2017.

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalms 107:1 NKJV)

You know that sin will lead to hell, but the Lord took the initiative and said I don’t want you to go to hell. I will pay the price. You won’t pay. Think of it! What benefit is it for you to gain the whole world and lose your soul. Occasionally, I think to myself, assuming I went to hell before I knew Jesus. What would have been my hope? Assuming I had died and gone to hell. You know it is not a matter of Brother Mike is wonderful or he has done something good. The scripture tells me that it is not of him that willeth or runneth, it is God that showeth mercy. It is the mercy of God that makes us seem as if we are better than those that are stealing, killing and prostituting. We are saved by Grace!

Beloved, do you know that our environment is polluted. Do you know that our water is polluted? Everything around us is polluted. Scarcely will you see any house without a generator? The gas that the generator is emitting is poisonous. And many have died because of some generator fumes, but you are alive. I was listening to the news sometimes ago, and I heard that people are dying of lung cancer as result of cigarette, which they did not smoke. They did not smoke it, but it brought cancer to them. But you are alive. Thank him for his goodness!

Psalms 103:3 declares that he heals all diseases. Therefore, when you wake up every morning learn to say ‘Lord, thank you for life. From the crown of my head to the sole of my feet, there is no malfunctioning in my body. Any virus that touches me dies instantly. I am mentally alert, I am strong spiritually. I am full of vitality.’ When you wake up in the morning, you brush your teeth and you go to rest room yourself, it may be difficult for you to understand what ill health is all about. But thanks be to God who heals you of all diseases you can’t even think of.
