Topic: Two Groups Of People On The Earth [Seeds of Destiny Thursday January 25th, 2018]
Scripture: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21.
Thought For The Day: People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth.
It has been discovered that there are two groups of people in this world – people of conviction and people of consensus.
People of conviction know what they want out of life as well as what pleases God. People of consensus, on the other hand, only follow what other people do.
People of consensus are people who have no mind of their own but follow what people do. Someone may wake up one morning and start dressing up in a certain seductive way and before long, everyone else joins him or her. Another person may begin to practice one evil act or lifestyle, and before you realise it, everyone else joins him or her in the act without knowing why he or she is doing it.
People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth because their lives do not matter for anything, especially in the area of opinion or initiative. They are the type of people I choose to refer to as pieces of statistical material. That is, people who are not relevant for anything except population census.
Being a person of conviction may make you appear controversial to people, especially people of conformity and compromise. When you make up your mind to be a person of conviction and to stand alone on the ground of righteousness, people may confront you with questions like, ‘Who do you think you are? What do you want to prove? Are you the only person who goes to church? Is everyone not doing it?’ but never falter in your resolve to be upright in all your conducts.
People of conviction stand for what they know while people of consensus do not have a stand; they only live to follow what others do.
Beloved, endeavour to be a person of conviction instead of being a person of consensus.
Remember This: People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth.
