Teens’ Open Heavens 31 January 2018 by Pastor Adeboye - You Can Overtake

Topic: You Can Overtake [Teens’ Open Heavens Wednesday 31st, January 2018]

Memorise: …for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman, saith the LORD. Isaiah 54:1b

Read: 1 Samuel 2:20-21 (KJV)

20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.

21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

Bible In One Year: Exodus 25-26, Matthew 21:1-22

MESSAGE:

A single contact with God can make the difference in the life of an individual. There are people who study hard for exams, but their results still don’t show the hard work put in. If you are in such a situation, may God bring about a positive change in Jesus’ name. When the hand of God was on Elijah in 1 Kings 18:41-46, he outran King Ahab who had earlier taken off with the speed of his horse drawn chariot. How can ordinary legs overtake horses? When God lays His hands on you, your progress will be so rapid that no one will be able to catch up with you. From the above quoted scripture, it is obvious that when God’s hand is upon you, the time which you lost that worked against you will be recovered, and will work in you favour. Imagine a man on his two feet running faster than a chariot drawn by horses! This tells us that even when you lack the latest technology, you can still emerge the best if God’s hand is upon you.

Get ready, you are about to overtake those who have gone ahead of you. It is allowed!

Prayer Point: Ask God to lay His hand upon you today, and you will begin to experience a turnaround in every negative situation in your life.

Hymn 6:

1. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:

2. Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sure

3. Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever_rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

6. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!
