Topic: Bold as the Lion [Wednesday September 2, 2015]
“For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”-Matthew 7:29
Fear and timidity has crippled so many great destinies and ministries. Some people have been given great ministries by God, but they lack the boldness to commence and so, they hide under the shadow of others. Ministers, more than any other group of people, need confidence to be able to function effectively in their ministries.
Confidence commands authority and this authority is necessary in teaching aptly the Word of God. The Bible enjoins us to be imitators of Christ. All through Jesus’ ministry, you would realise that He taught with authority, not minding the set of people He was standing in front of. However, this authority comes with your knowledge of the Word of God.
Your confidence produces great rewards. No ministry can stand strong without boldness, because it is a strategy to wage war against the enemy – the devil and his cohorts. Every great ministry is confronted with oppositions and these oppositions are continuous. So, you need to be bold enough not just to be in command of them, but continue to be in command. The work of a minister is not for the fearful; it’s for those with a lion’s heart.
The reason why people become fearful is because they are unsure of Who backs them up. The Bible says: “The people that do know their God shall be strong…” That strength entails boldness and that’s what brings about exploits. So, the bolder you are, the more exploits you command. Receive grace for boldness in your ministry in the name of Jesus Christ!
Remain Blessed!
