Topic: Prosper and Be in Health — Monday August 28, 2017.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2 (KJV)
God’s paramount desire for you as a believer is the prosperity and health of your spirit, soul and body. He desires that every part of you function in the perfection for which He has created it. That is not negotiable. For instance, when an individual is sick, everything is put on hold to treat the body. Yes, I understand that man is a spirit being, but our bodies give us the license to function here on earth. The body is the vehicle through which you fulfil God’s plan and purpose here on earth. So proper care and attention must be given to the body.
The problem with many of us believers is the tendency to spiritualize everything, even our health. And folks who take care of their health are seen as lacking in faith. That is an error. Yes, prayer, fasting, and declaring the word over our lives in the area of our health is vitally important, and I do this daily, but it is important to act in accordance with what you are declaring. You cannot declare one thing and act another. The Bible says faith without works is dead (James 2:26). When we stand in faith, we must act according to what we believe.
Beloved, take care of your health and don’t take things for granted. It is good to pray and declare the Word, but we must also make sure that are educated on the importance of taking care of your body. No matter how spiritual you are, you need the body to carry out the assignment that God has for you. So God does not expect you to abuse your body. Take proper care – eat right, rest well, drink plenty of water and exercise, amongst other things. As you do your part, I pray that your health will not fail you. Sickness and disease will not come near you. You will walk in divine health. I curse every sickness, disease and affliction in your body. You will experience wholeness in Jesus’ name.
