Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Tuesday September 15, 2015 Daily Devotional – Seeing through His eyes

Topic: Seeing through His eyes [Tuesday 15 September, 2015]

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”-Psalm 139:14

In a meeting some years ago, late Dr. Myles Munroe relayed one of his high school experiences. He said one of his teachers looked at him degradingly and said he was “half human” because he was black. However, he didn’t allow his teacher’s opinion to weigh him down. He discovered early that he was wonderfully and fearfully made, so no other opinion could counter that.

Most people’s crisis in life began from what they accepted from others about themselves. Before you can achieve anything meaningful in life, you must be able to see yourself through God’s eyes and not through man’s many opinions. Knowing who you are through God’s Word is the foundation for a life that counts.

Other people’s opinion about you can be harmful. This is not to assume that you cannot be corrected, but you must not allow anyone bring down your morale with their words. This is why you must have what to rely on in times like this.

The truth is: People would always talk; your character withstanding. However, a clear picture of who you are, what you are created for and Who you have inside of you, will give you a firm foundation to rest on in such times. Every great person you know now and would know in the future had oppositions. It is self-discovery, especially through the Word of God, that gives peaceful success. Therefore, discover yourself and hold firm to your discoveries.

Remain Blessed!
