How 13-year-old boy saved his 4-year-old sister from kidnapper

A 13-year-old California boy is being hailed as a hero for saving his 4-year-old sister from a would-be kidnapper last Saturday.

Earl Williams, 61, allegedly entered the children’s fenced-in yard in Lancaster and asked the girl her name before grabbing her and attempting to walk away with her, Lancaster sheriff’s deputies told KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

As the girl was being carried away, her brother quickly grabbed hold of her hand and yelled for help, authorities said.

“He was definitely quick on his feet,” Deputy Miguel Ruiz told the news outlet. “He’s very responsible for his family and obviously his 4-year-old sister. So, at this point, he is our hero for today.”

Williams had been pacing around the family’s home before he walked into their yard around 11:15 a.m., authorities said, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He was arrested, charged with kidnapping and was being held on $100,000 bail.
