Feb Polls: Awoniyi appeals to people of East


An appeal has been made to the people of the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State to once again remain solid in their support for the People's Democratic party in the forthcoming February general election.

Yomi Awoniyi Kogi State Deputy Governor Awoniyi stated this in an interview at the official flag-off for the Presidential and other elections slated for february, held at Ayingba.

Awoniyi described the forth coming Presidential election as very important to the people of the state, disclosing that victory in the polls for President Goodluck Jonathan would enable him  complete the good works began by his administration.

Awoniyi said Kogi State has benefited immensely in the last four years of the President Jonathan's administration, said the efforts to complete Ajaokuta Steel Company, Lokoja-Abuja road, Lokoja port and establishment of a Federal University in the state are reasons why the state should remain supportive of the Peoples Democratic Party in the general elections.

While noting that the convincing support for President Jonathan from the state will enable him do more for Kogi State.

The Deputy Governor described all candidates of PDP in the forth coming election in the state as credible, urged the electorates to turn out en mass to sustain the party's dominance in the area over the years.

The Deputy Governor appealed to the people to collect their PVC, as it remains the weapon to enthone continuity and development in the state.   Awoniyi called on citizens of the state to remain law abiding before, during and after the general election,disclosing that the state will witness more progress if the people are united under the transformation vision of the PDP led administration.
