Topic: Power of the Tongue [Monday February 23, 2015]
Our tongues have the power to build and to break; to bless or to curse. Most times, what constitutes a perfect marriage is a perfect tongue. That is, a tongue that selects what it says and speaks the truth, according to the Word of God; not the negative facts of life (Psalm 34:12-13).
Comparing the tongue to the rudder of a ship, you discover that it controls the entire unit. This means that whatever good you desire to see in your home, you have to speak it into being. Some women speak negatively about their husbands, or focus on his weaknesses, and then wonder why things aren’t getting better. If you would speak the Word of God over him constantly, rather than what may be visible at the moment, you will see things begin to change in his life.
For instance, a husband who seems to be irresponsible by all standards can turn a new leaf through the power of his wife’s tongue. Aside from praying, you should engage the power of positive declaration into your family. Speak to the works of his hands, to your children’s well being, to the growth and prosperity of your family and you will find out that in no time, there will be a transformation beyond your imagination.
Remember as an image of God, you have the power to create whatever you want to see. The whole earth and what you see today was formed by the Word of God and He said, “Ye are gods…” (Psalm 82:6). If you are like Him, then you have the power to create already embedded in you. More so, you are only permitted to see what you say and believe, therefore, as you engage the positive power of your tongue today over your family, spouse, business, and career, I see those situations turning around for your good; and shortly, the world will reckon with the hand of God upon your family!
Remain Blessed!
