Prince Tonye T.J.T Princewill
My fellow Nigerians,

On behalf of all my supporters, I'd like first to congratulate the new President and Commander in Chief of the armed forces, Muhammadu Buhari on his successful assumption as leader of the largest black nation and the number 1 economy in Africa. I'd like to thank him for a well worded speech and encourage him to stick to every word, especially the ones that appeared in the sentence. "I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody." That signifies a collective interest and this can only be good for Nigeria.

Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Sunday May 31, 2015 Daily Devotional - Lead them to Christ

“That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.” -Deuteronomy 6:2
When my children were growing up, I made sure that we had Bible study daily. I would open up my Bible and them theirs, then we would share ideas of what the particular Scripture we were looking at meant to us. It opened us up to so many things; but of great importance, was that it showed them who they are in Christ.

DCLM Daily Manna, Sunday May 31, 2015 by Pastor Kumuyi – The Sons Of Ulam

Topic: The Sons of Ulam [Sunday May 31, 2015]

Text: 1 Chronicles 8:33-40
Key Verse: “And the sons of Ulam were mighty men of valour, archers, and had many sons, and sons’ sons, an hundred and fifty. All these are of the sons of Benjamin” (1 Chronicles 8:40).
Today, there are traditional and on-line publications that are dedicated to compilation of remarkable people from different walks of life. The world has never come short in supply of such people considered to have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields. Those who make these lists are not necessarily selected because of moral uprightness, but basically for the contributions they have made in leadership, religion, philanthropy, arts, science, social work, military, sports and a host of other human endeavours.

The books of 1st and 2nd Chronicles are basically historic account of the experience of the Israelites over a period of time. 1st Chronicles, in particular, contains a genealogical listing of the various tribes of Israel, from the earliest times to the death of David. Such a huge compilation of names hardly had room for reasonable biographical comments. But in every tribe, there were names that were too remarkable to be listed without comment. In the tribe of Benjamin, the sons of Ulam are one of such. The Chronicler took time to remark that the sons of Ulam were mighty men of valour and archers.

This set of people were very courageous and had mastery of one of the major ancient weapons –archery. Bible commentaries noted that ancient archery required great strength and skill as the steel bow was bent by treading with the feet and pulling the string with both hands. The Ulams therefore, earned their honour by being masters in this area. They certainly endeavoured to make the most of their God-given talent.

We may not be skillful in archery or have such earthly attainments that can earn us a place in the Who-Is-Who of this world. But we all have ample opportunities to live a remarkable life. A child of God that makes the most of his God-given resources and gifts by positively touching lives; brightening the corner where he is, thereby glorifying God has booked a place of honour in heavenly chronicles.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” -Proverbs 16:18
Pride and destruction are twins. Wherever you see pride, know that its companion, destruction, is just at the corner. Pride is very devastating and begins in the heart. My husband often says, “If you’re proud, you know it; you don’t need a prophet to tell you.” Pride is at the root of many people’s family challenge today, yet they blame it on the devil.

We go to great length in pursuit of happiness in life. We spare neither expense nor efforts to obtain what promises to give us lasting joy. We enthusiastically adopt and practice all the formulas recommended by so-called experts. Yet, happiness remains elusive. The preacher in the book of Ecclesiastes summarizes this baffling situation well, when he exclaimed: “Whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them”.

Wike doesn’t have the mandate to be governor, Rivers APC insists

Chief Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is billed to be sworn in today as Governor of Rivers State, does not have the mandate of the people to serve in that capacity, the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said.

“Chief Wike is being sworn-in not because he won the April 11 gubernatorial election but simply because he was unjustly declared Governor-elect by the State INEC, which never hides its connivance with Rivers PDP. He does not have the legitimate mandate of the good people of Rivers State to act as their Governor,” Rivers APC said in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.

Amaechi, the Lion of Niger Delta Politics, Strikes Gold

By Eze Chukwuemeka Eze

PREAMBLE
For a man to clock the golden age of 50 in a country like Nigeria where the life expectancy is much lower surely calls for a celebration. My good friend and political leader, Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, therefore has every reason to roll out the drums as he strikes gold today, Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Silver and gold have I none to give the man of the moment but at least I can pay him a tribute, chronicling how he emerged from humble circumstances to become one of shapers of modern Nigerian politics within his first 50 years of sojourn on earth. As a close friend who has watched Amaechi from close quarters over a long period of time, I will attempt to expose what makes him tick politically and how he piloted the unseating of a sitting President and a political party that prided itself as the largest in Africa.

Kogi FA Constitutes 7 Standing Committees

Celebrating Children’s Day with Car Safety

Parents play a pivotal role in ensuring their children are safe when travelling on the road. According to a Nigeria Watch report on trends and patterns of fatal road accidents in Nigeria (2006-2014), “The incidence of fatal road accidents in Nigeria is phenomenal. Trend  analysis  of  fatal  road  accidents  between  June  2006  and  May  2014  using  Nigeria  Watch database  shows  that  15 090  lives  were  lost  to  fatal  road accidents in 3 075 events”.

Kogi's Bonds of Development

In Kogi State, Capt. Wada is laying an ingenious example that demonstrates that inspite of lean and dwindling federal allocation, states can look inward and innovate ways of sourcing for funds if the right men are at the helm of affairs."Look before you leap" is an oft-repeated admonition from wise men since the olden days.  The saying emphasizes the importance of proper appraisal of a situation and adequate preparation before actions are taken. Kogi Governor, Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada and his Deputy Abayomi Awoniyi have demonstrated this fact in their approach to governance and development issues in the state since coming to office in January 2012. Drawing heavily from their professional backgrounds in aviation and construction respectively ensured that they had well articulated policies before take off.

True stories abound of people who went from rags to riches; from “zero to hero” and from nobodies to significant personalities. But every now and then, we also stumble on true riches-to-rags stories – stories about people who, for whatever reason, fell from top of the success ladder to the bottom. It is such a painful experience. However, more painful is the experience of falling from grace – out of favour with God.

Topic: Get rid of those Offences [Thursday May 28, 2015]
“And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”-Matthew 11:6
Offences are expressions of inward anger and animosity. They are the feelings you get when you think that you have been treated unjustly and deserve more. Unfortunately, people get offended in God too. They feel they deserve more and should have what, and if not more, of what their neighbours have. They may also think they don’t deserve what they are going through right now, and God has been “unjust” to them.

Child training begins as soon as the baby is born. Psychologists say that a child’s mind is like a board (tabula rasa) where all manner of things fall on. Even at that tender age, a child hears but may not communicate. It matters what is fed into it at that age. The mistake many parents make is that they think it is too early to begin to teach the child the right values. Even believers think it is too early to teach the child how to pray and worship God.

“Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Among other things, to train means to instruct by example. You must SHOW your children what to do. They are more interested in what you are doing than what you are saying. You have to be honest if you want your children to be honest. You can’t teach them to love or forgive others when you don’t show love or forgiveness towards your spouse. You can’t tell them to handle issues calmly, when you are always raising your voice at them, at their father/mother, or anybody else. You teach them such things by actually DOING such things.

In a speech made in 1863, Abraham Lincoln said, “We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown.
