Kogi women tasked to be supportive - Awoniyi

Women have been asked to remain in their support and determined in the guest by the present administration of Capt Idris Wada to accelerate the development of the State.

Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor, stated this when he received in audience, women groups from Lokoja Local Government Area.

The Deputy Governor, said the Capt Idris Wada administration has within the last three years through skill acquisition and several empowerment programme stimulated the socio – economic growth of the State.

While noting that women would continue to get desired attention that will make them economically independent, women he noted have also gotten a fair share in appointment by the State Government.

Awoniyi, disclosed that towards empowering women to become more effective growth agents, efforts will be made to empower them skillfully, commended the Kogi women empowerment network, the pet project of wife of the Governor for her collaboration to give women a voice.

In a remarks, Hajia Jummai
Popularly known as Mama Ibro, urged for more collaborative efforts that will make the women of Lokoja Local Government Area more self reliant, and commended the Deputy Governor for his loyalty and commitment to the transformation agenda.

Also speaking, Hajia Hawa Kulu, Sagir Lokoja, expressed gratitude to the administration towards ensuring that women are given a sense of belonging.

Hajia Kulu, commended the present administration for making women a focal point in its transformation agenda and prayed for prosperity for the present administration.
