Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Wednesday May 27, 2015 Daily Devotional - Power in Prayer

Topic: Power in Prayer [Wednesday May 27, 2015]
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” -Luke 21:36
The battery of a phone is sustained to the level of electrical power infused into it. As long as the battery is fully charged and regularly connected to its power source, it can never go dead. Similarly, our spirit man is the battery pack to our body and mind. As long as it is connected to the power source and fully charged, it can never be defeated or die. The power source however, is prayer.

Effective and efficient prayer life is our connection to the power base which keeps our spirit, soul and body charged up.Prayer is the link between the physical and the spiritual, and the physical is controlled by and from the spiritual. When you engage in intensive prayers, especially when you pray in tongues, you are translated from the physical to the spiritual realm where no evil or negative circumstance can withstand you.

Also, an active prayer life is the key to effectiveness in life and ministry. The reason why some people are Word dry is because they don’t engage effectively in prayers. Naturally, I recommend at least 30 minutes daily of effective prayer in tongues, as it goes a long way in setting you up your day ahead and life in entirety.

There is a saying that a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. This is true because we draw our physical and spiritual strength from the prayer altar. Someone once said that on the head of every believer is a tongue of fire for protection and preservation from the enemy and this is gotten from the prayer altar.

My husband said, “No prayer, no fire; no power, no future.” When you are prayerful, God supernaturally supplies the power to overcome this world. Prayer is one spiritual exercise that makes you withstand all the fiery darts of the devil (Ephesians 6:16). Therefore, disallow complacency and nonchalance;keep yourself fully empowered through a consistent prayer life.

Remain Blessed!
