Mopamuro PDP commended for peaceful Ward Congress

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has commended members of the Mopamuro Chapter of the PDP for their orderly and peaceful conduct in the Party's Ward Congress held today in the area.

Awoniyi commended the massive turn out of members towards electing adhoc delegates that will vote the party's governorship flag bearer for the November governorship poll in the state.

Awoniyi urged the members to sustain the enthusiasm displayed in coming out to elect the adhoc delegates, urged them to display same in ensuring that the party emerge victorious in the forth coming governorship election.

Awoniyi commended the free, fair and transparent process the party put in place in electing the adhoc delegates, also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for observing the congress, he adjudged as credible.

Awoniyi described Mopamuro LGA as a PDP controlled enclave since 1999, urged the people to remain committed to the ideals of the party, ideals he maintained is people centered.

Earlier, Mr Alfred Bello, the State Returning Officer of the PDP, had giving out the forms to the Ward Returning Officers, for those interested to contest as delegates at their various Wards.

The State Returning Officer commended the members for their peaceful and orderly conduct at the congress, and described the party as one that is discipline and observes the rules to the later.

At the end of the congress, three adhoc delegates from the ten Wards of the area emerged as delegates to the forth coming governorship congress scheduled for September, 10, an exercise, Mrs Clarkson Margaret, the INEC Mopamuro Electoral Officer, described as credible and followed the stipulated guidelines.
