Wada has the capacity to navigate the difficult issues of governance


The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has assured that the present administration of Capt Idris Wada has the capacity to navigate the difficult issues of governance and to meet the people's legitimate expectations.

Yomi Awoniyi, stated this at a get together organized by staff of the office of the Deputy Governor to mark his 55th birthday.

Awoniyi described the expectations of the people  of the state as it concern infrastructures as legitimate noted however that the present administration of Capt Wada, with its good intentions, is limited by resources.

While noting that since the inception of the administration, there has been a mismatch between resources acruing to the state and expectations, he however expressed satisfaction that the governor has been able to navigate the several challenges associated with governance using wisdom and prudent use of resources.

Awoniyi commended the people for their support and commitment to the Capt Wada's administration, expressed satisfaction that the state is presently blessed with a leader who has the capacity and patriotism to move the state to the next level of development.

Awoniyi described the staff of the Deputy Governor's office as a source of strength, said he is proud of them and assured workers in the state of better days ahead despite the difficult financial challenge the state may be going through.

In their separate goodwill messages, Commodore Johnson Onukutu, AVM Gabriel Abdul, Dr Mrs Temitope Shinkaiye, Bar Jato Ladi, Hon Adams Onumdi, all Special Advisers to the State Governor, extolled the loyalty and hard-working qualities of Yomi Awoniyi, and praised him for his unalloyed commitment to Capt Idris Wada and the growth and development of the state.

In a welcome remarks, Mr Richard Akanmode, Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, said the surprised get together was the staff way of appreciating the humility of the Deputy Governor, praised his commitment to the success of the Capt Wada's administration and prayed God to grant him good health.

Also present at the ceremony was Elder Abraham Adavi, Permanent Secretary Administration and Parastatals, Office of the Deputy Governor, said the increased staff productivity in the Deputy Governor's Office was propelled by the enabling environment to work created by the Deputy Governor, prayed God to grant the Deputy Governor many more fruitful years of service to his fatherland.

Highlight of the ceremony was the cutting of three different birthday cakes made by Wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Tokunbo Awoniyi, Women of Western Senatorial District and staff of the Deputy Governor's Office by the Deputy Governor.
