Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Thursday March 19, 2015 Daily Devotional - The Prayer of Faith

Topic: The Prayer of Faith [Thursday March 19, 2015]

“…For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” -Matthew 17:20

If you have ever seen a little child request for anything, you would understand what faith is. They go to their parent with full confidence that what they are requesting for would be done. Some of them even put a time frame to their request, because they believe their parents are capable of providing for their needs at anytime. That is the simplicity of their faith.

Children worry about nothing; they are the freest people you would ever relate with. They do not consider that they might be disappointed, hurt or rejected. They just believe everyone is responsible for them and should bid to their request. With the understanding of how children relate, Jesus said, if you would just come to Him like one of these little ones, casting all your burdens on Me, you will feel lighter and life would be less of a stress for you.

This means that God is willing to help you at all times, if only you believe like a child that He is a loving Father and has your best interest at heart. He has the capacity to provide for every of your need, no matter how big you think it is. This is the kind of confidence you should have when you pray. Just like a child would boldly tell the parent all that they have been asked to buy in school, without having the slightest thought that they may not have the means for it. So, you should confidently present your request to God not considering if He can meet up or not.

The confidence you place in God, determines how much you would receive from Him. If you believe your case is too big for Him to handle, then it would remain undone. However, when you come with full assurance that He is the God of all, Who has all the silver and the gold, and that there is no situation too difficult for Him to handle, His worth and power becomes a reality in your life. So, today, as you present your needs before God, be assured that He is capable of all things; and as you have said in His ears, so shall He do for you in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
