Topic: God’s Purpose for Marriage (Part 2)
Dear Reader,
I welcome you to your usual column of family matters. Last week, I taught you the foundation of marriage. Today, I want to show you one of the reasons why God purposed marriage.
God is a God of purpose and He has instituted your marriage for the propagation of the human race.
Marriage is for procreation. The human race is being maintained through marriage. The Word of God says: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it… (Genesis 1:28). It is very important for us to know that the power to produce after their kind was transferred to the man and the woman. This power can only be rightfully exercised only in the context of marriage. One of the purposes for marriage is fruitfulness. The above scripture shows that God commanded you to be fruitful, it is not an admonition. God designed your marriage to be fruitful. Never mind whatever contrary report you may be holding in your hands right now, God’s purpose must stand in your marriage.
Fruitfulness should be natural to man, but when you are resisted by hell, you need an understanding of God’s provision for your fruitfulness in marriage to combat the attack. The first thing to bear in mind is that God created you to be fruitful.
Everything God said when He was creating the world came to be. Therefore, it is impossible for what God has said concerning you and your home to fail. The counsel of the Lord stands forever (Psalm 33:11), whatever He does abides till eternity (Ecclesiastes 3:14), nothing can be added to it or taken away from it. Since God has said to you, “Be fruitful”, blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm count, or any such thing cannot stop that word from coming to pass in your life. He said, “Let there be light”, and there was light. So, when He said to you, “Be fruitful”, you must be fruitful.
If you find it difficult to bear children, find out what God’s Word says about you, accept it, and walk in it. After creation, God said that everything He created was very good, including you. Man may call you barren, but God does not. He can heal any case of barrenness, because with Him all things are possible. If there is anything missing in you (medically speaking) that is responsible for it, the devil is the thief that stole it. Barrenness is not part of God’s purpose for marriage. Look at this testimony:
“I was married for five years without a child. The Bishop said we should come out last year to receive the book, ‘You Shall Not be Barren,’ and then we shook hands with Mama (Mrs. Oyedepo). November last year, I missed my period, and by August 23, this year, I gave birth to Isaac.” – Aku, N. (Mrs.)
This year has been declared as our year of moving from glory to glory. I want you to know that whatever that does not glorify God in your life shall be rolled away. I am glad to let you know that barrenness does not glorify God. The Word of God says: They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed (Psalm 34:5). The only way to avert shame is to look unto God in your situation. As you look unto God this year for the fruit of the womb, because it is part of God’s purpose for your marriage, that shame shall be averted in Jesus’ name!
It is important for you to know that your fruitfulness is not dependent on your anatomy, nor does it have any bearing with the doctor’s diagnosis or x-ray reports. Rather, it has everything to do with light from heaven. All you need to do to be fruitful in your marriage is to believe that just as everything God said at creation is still in place, your fruitfulness is guaranteed!
The power to be fruitful only comes from God. If you desire this power, all you need to do is to surrender your life to Christ. By doing that, God’s power will be released to you. In case you are not born again and you want to do so now, you can say this prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today as a sinner. Forgive me of my Sins. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, and conselling@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
