Wada gets a pat on the back for making human and capital development a priority

The present administration's strategy of making human and capital development the flagship of governance in Kogi state  has been applauded.

The Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Deputy Governor, Abu Micheal, gave the applaud in a statement said the deliberate policy by Capt Idris Wada to put the people's welfare first above other consideration has in no small measure helped reduced anti social crisis in the state.

Mr Abu commended the governor for making the welfare of its citizens a top priority, commended the reform by the administration to clear the backlog of gratuity owed retirees since the creation of the state as well as the regular payment of pension and salaries to workers in the state as noble.

The media aide commended the administration for paying the backlog of gratuity from 1991 to 1995, also commended the efforts of the administration for ensuring that the State remains the least indebted state in the country, and  attributed the feat to the governor's prudent approach to administration, cutting down on flamboyance in governance, a policy he said has enabled him to strike a balance between human and capital development, with the state not plunged into debt.
Mr Abu appealed for understanding from the people, disclosing that the governor has since assumption of office as governor governed the state with sincerity of purpose, without bias and malice, but with the fear of God.

Mr Abu said following the paucity of funds, occasioned by drastic reduction in allocation to states in the federation, the governor has influenced the signing of over eighteen memoranda of understanding with reputable national and international organization, assured that very soon, the benefits of those MoU signing would begin to yield dividends to the State.

While maintaining that the state is on its march to greatness, Mr Abu said such feat can only be attained through the collaborative efforts from the people, urged the people to appreciate the painstaking efforts of the governor, which he noted will spur him to be focused and committed to taking the state to its desired heights.
