Nigeria U20 team defeated hosts Senegal U20 3-1 in the opening match of the 2015 African Youth Championship played at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor, Dakar on Sunday.
A brace from Taiwo Awoniyi in the opening 11 minutes of the encounter inspired Manu Garba’s side to victory with Ifeanyi Mathew getting the third for the Nigerians with Sidy Sarr pulling a goal for the hosts.
With this win, Manu Garba’s team sit atop Group A with three points plus two goals difference and will face Congo On Wednesday at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor.
