Wike’s swearing in heralds anarchy in Rivers State

The All Progressives Congress [APC], Rivers State, is disturbed that much of the fears of decent and peaceful people and residents of Rivers State that the swearing of Nyesom Wike based on the stolen mandate of the people will herald anarchy and confusion in the state have now been proven correct.

On 28th May, peace-loving people and residents of Rivers State were frightened and shocked to find a virtual takeover of Port Harcourt and other parts of the state by cultists who were celebrating in anticipation of the swearing in of their political godfather, Barr. Nyesom Wike.

For example, the streets of Old Port Harcourt Township were taken over by hundreds of cultists who openly displayed all manner of dangerous weapons including arms. Dressed in white, red and black uniforms, they sang and danced as they openly consumed Indian hemp, Red Label whisky and other alcohol and dangerous substances.

While residents of Old Township of Port Harcourt were subjected to the frightening threat by the Icelanders cult group reportedly led by one Ayinla, the Diobu axis was taken over by a myriad of other cult groups who  descended on the area, shooting and threatening innocent residents. In the process, 3 persons were reportedly killed while many others are said to be hospitalised.

An eyewitness who recounted what happened, said that those killed were identified as Aloy Chima, Andy Allison and another youth who was simply known as Ebere.

As if what happened on May 28 was not enough, more celebration and open display of aggressive and criminal threat to innocent people and residents of some parts of Port Harcourt continued on the 29th after Wike’s swearing in as caretaker governor of the state.

What the developing scenario is signalling is that the people and residents of Rivers State will henceforth not sleep with their eyes closed. It confirms our long-held view that Nyesom Wike means evil for law-abiding people of Rivers State. And this confirmation has come in earnest. Obviously, anarchy has descended on the state in which our fathers toiled so hard to establish, nurture and build.

However, the APC calls on every citizen and resident of Rivers State to continue to pray and remain watchful as this period of interregnum will pass away in a couple of months. There is no doubt that the mandate of the people that was stolen with the invaluable lives of our people will surely be recovered from the PDP buccaneers, murderers and cultists. It is only a matter of time!
