Awoniyi in a statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abu Mike, also extends his heartfelt condolences to the people, Government, immediate family and relatives of the late Deputy Governor.
Awoniyi described the death as tragic and unfortunate, noting that the former deputy governor was a loyal and dedicated deputy governor, urged the people and government of Borno State to take solace in the fact that the late Deputy Governor lived a good life and died in the service of his people.
The statement described the late Deputy Governor as a patriot who was selfless in service, described his death as a setback in his role to the fight against insurgency.
Awoniyi prayed that God Almighty will grant the soul of the departed Deputy Governor a peaceful repose and to also comfort the family members and government of Borno State.
