Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, gave the charge to the members when he met with critical stakeholders of the party from Kogi LGA, in Kotonkarfe.
Awoniyi said the meeting was to keep touch with party members ahead the forth party governorship primaries, and to solicit support for Capt Idris Wada's re election, assured the people that issues of connecting the area to power, prompt payment of salaries and council workers is been given attention by the state governor.
Awoniyi disclosed that machinery has been put in place to ensure that upon receipt of the promised bail out funds, more attention will be given to the improvement of the welfare of the people.
The Deputy Governor appealed to the people to be a little patient with government, disclosing that government is aware of the challenge faced by the people of the area promised that attention will be given to cushion their sufferings.
Awoniyi disclosed to the people the intention of the governor to seek a second term in office, said another term would enable the governor consolidate on the good works he has started.
While noting that the state has done better in terms of the payment of salaries to its workforce, amidst the paucity of funds, Awoniyi disclosed that the present administration has done well in providing democracy dividends to the people. Awoniyi called on the people to rally round Capt Wada in the party's primaries assuring that the area that has been PDP dominated since 1998 would be given its rightful due in the scheme of things.
In their separate messages of goodwill, Hon Sam Abenemi, State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Alh Ado Shaibu, Chairman of State Civil Service Commission and Hon M.O. Sule, Permanent Member 1, Local Government Service Commission, thanked the people for their support to the PDP in the last general election, assured of the needed support from the party to enable it have victory in the next governorship election.
Also speaking, Abubakar Sadiq Jibril, SSA1 Kogi LGA and Alh Salihu Suleiman, PDP Chairman of the area, praised the visit of the deputy governor, disclosing that it will propel the party and the members to work assiduously in the forth coming election.
While the called for government presence to the area, improvement in the welfare of the people, the promised the area's total support for Capt Idris Wada second term ambition.
As part of the visit to Kogi LGA, Yomi Awoniyi, made a stop at the palace of the Ohimege Igu Koton Karfe, HRH, Alh Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, where he sought the royal father's blessing for Governor Idris Wada's administration and assured that efforts is on to meet the demands of the people from the area in the area of welfare and infrastructure.
In his response, the Ohimege Igu Koton Karfe, HRH, Alh Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, urged for constant interaction between the government and the people, as well as the presence of government amenities to the area.
