Topic: Stop beating the air [Friday August 21, 2015]
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”-1 Peter 5:8
Life is a battlefield and everyone has battles to fight. The only difference between those who seem like they don’t and others who seem like they are fighting every battle put together is that, the first group realises who the enemy is. Your ability to recognise that you have just one enemy, the devil, is your first step towards victory.
So many people have been deceived that they are fighting individuals, family, friends and colleagues; thinking those are their enemies. Yes, they might be under the influence of the devil to torment you, but your real enemy is not them but the devil. If you can put a stop to the influence of the devil in your life, then you have handled those individuals you think are responsible for your situation.
Some years ago, a brother gave a testimony of how his son was afflicted with swollen testes. He had taken him to so many hospitals and had used several drugs, to no avail. He laid hold of the book: Keys to divine health. Therein, he saw the solution to his challenge. He, according to him, ordered the devil out of the affairs of his son before praying for his son’s healing. That same week, what had taken months to tackle was over.
You don’t have many enemies, so stop fighting in the wrong direction. There is only one principal enemy – the devil. He is behind every challenge you may be going through. However, the good news is that you have received the victory over him in the name of Jesus (John 16:33; 1 John 5:4-5). All you need to do is to be sure of your salvation, believe in your authority in Christ and make use of it. Indeed, you are more than a conqueror! So, confront that principal enemy.
Remain Blessed!
