Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, gave the charge in mopa, his country home, at the weekend while addressing supporters of the party.
The Deputy Governor described the rousing reception accorded him on arrival by people of the area, as a good omen for the people and sign of better days ahead, appealed to members of the party and citizens of the area to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP and for Capt Idris Wada.
Awoniyi described the work ahead for the party ahead the forth coming governorship election slated for November 21, as challenging but well spell out, urged them to come out in their numbers and vote for the PDP during the governorship election.
Awoniyi described PDP as the party that can continue with the development trend in the state, assured that the issues of salary payment has been stepped up at both levels of government by the state government.
Awoniyi pointed out that the issue of percentage payment at local government levels is been improved upon from the month of July, while the Governor, Awoniyi added, has promised to invest in massive infrastructures at the various local government areas of the state if the state government receives it own share of the bail out money from the federal government.
Awoniyi appealed to the people to come out en mass and vote for the PDP during the next governorship election to ensure continuity and sustainable development.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, William Shogo, PDP Chairman for Mopamuro LGA, said the meeting was called upon to discuss ways of moving the party forward and to be positioned for victory in the governorship election in November.
Other speakers commended the leadership of the Deputy Governor, promising to do the party proud in the November governorship election.
