Topic: Spiritual Investment [Sunday July 26, 2015]
“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.” -Proverbs 13:22
A great woman of God, Evelyn Roberts (Oral Robert’s wife), said: “if I had to do one thing over again, I would saturate my children even more with the Word of God. For a child can only think what he has in his mind. The world will desperately bid for your child’s mind, and you can’t stop this. But while they are in care and under your control, you can build an arsenal of Scriptures and Christian thinking in them, that the very gates of hell cannot prevail against.”
The greatest legacy you can leave for your children is a good and sound Christian upbringing; not money, clothes or even landed properties. Your spiritual investment on your children will remain with them for eternity and they then can pass it on to their own children. Material possessions always diminish.
Making spiritual investments mean you ensure the salvation of their souls early; make the Word of God a foundation for them, teach them the values of Kingdom service, help them to love God through your lifestyle and attitude towards the Kingdom and make prayer a way of life in your family.
When you centre on the spiritual aspect of their lives, you ensure growth in every other area of their lives. This is because bringing them up in the fear of the Lord opens them up to the benefits of all things such as peace, wealth and riches, which only God can provide. Your children will be mighty in your life time in the name of Jesus Christ!
Remain Blessed!
