Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Friday July 3, 2015 Daily Devotional – Recording Keeping

Topic: Recording Keeping [Friday July 3, 2015]

“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” -Romans 14:12

Financial rest does not come at the instance you start earning millions; it comes with proper money management and budgeting. One of the ways you can effectively manage your money is to keep adequate records of your spending and income. You should know the amount of money that comes to you every month, and be able to adequately account for how it is spent.

I personally love to keep records of all my activities, including my spending. That way, I know if I am being productive or not. To effectively keep records, I have this little diary I carry about. That diary contains all my expenditures. That way, I can keep track of what comes into my hand and what goes out; the items I spend on and what I may need to cut down on. At the end of the month, it becomes easy for me to recollect my spending activities for the month and be accountable for myself and family.

Some people are in need today not because they are not earning enough, but because they have no records. For this reason, they don’t know what they spend on and so cannot account for what they need to reduce or cut out completely. More so, God will require a proper account of every financial blessing He has given you. Your ability to produce and defend your cause appropriately, qualifies you for more.

Financial faithfulness is a much needed virtue for you, if you truly want to be financially independent. Much money cannot be committed into your hands if you are not accountable for the little given to you. So, begin to keep records of your spending, and be disciplined at it. Prepare a financial book today, so you will not suffer mismanagement tomorrow.

Remain Blessed!
