Agreement: A must [Monday July 6, 2015]
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” -Matthew 18:19
The root cause of struggles and ultimate failure experienced in many families today can be traceable to lack of agreement in the home. The devil takes delight in causing disagreements in the home, because he knows that therein lays the key to destruction. Agreement, on the other hand, is the key to life. It is coming to an understanding together concerning a thing.
You must agree on everything, including your likes and dislikes. Agree on how the family should be run, the number of children you want, how they should be trained and disciplined. When disagreement sets in concerning any issue, if not properly and timely handled, it could escalate beyond control. Agreeing to disagree is just as beneficial as disagreeing to agree is destructive.
However, agreement comes from understanding and trusting each other. You trust that whatever suggestions or actions made by either of you, are intended for the good of the family, no matter the outcome. You also understand that you are both working together to build a successful family.
One of the ways agreement can be fostered in the home is by the husband explicitly explaining visions and directions to his wife. If your wife knows where you are headed per time, she will learn to trust you and your sense of judgement. With that, she will be willing to agree with you concerning almost any issue. The wife also should be ready to listen, work and learn from the husband, irrespective of her qualification and societal status. Remember, marriage is the strongest human covenant, so you must operate in knowledge to gain dominion in it. You shall not fail!
Remain Blessed!
