The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the November 21 Kogi State governorship election, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has turned an impossibility into possibility by embarking on the rehabilitation of the road linking Mopamuro through to Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government Area of the state.
The linking road which has been adjudged to be one of the worst roads not only in Kogi State, but in Nigeria as a whole, today the story has changed, thanks to Hon. James Faleke who has single handily taken upon himself the rehabilitation of the road for it to be motorable.
Speaking to Journalists in Aiyeteju Amuro when he paid an on spot assessment to the project site, the Ijumu born astute politician said its sadden his heart to see the bad state of the road, hence he was
move to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
He said it is on heard off for the entire federal constituency to have been cut off due to bad road network which the authority in Kogi State is less concern, stressing that it is time for the representatives of the people at various level of governance to wake up from their slumber and spring into actions in assisting the people.
According to him, the bad state of the road has further impoverish the people along the routes economically, as their prospectus customers who plight the road have abandon route due to bad road.
Hon Faleke said the deliberate abandonment of the strategic road linking the entire Yagba Federal Constituency through to Ilorin under the rule of the Peoples Democratic Party at both the national and
state level is a clear testimony of the fact that the party has no good plan for the people.
He called on the people of the area to have a change of mind by casting their vote en-mass in favour of the All Progressive Congress (APC) come November 21 and vote out the bad leadership in the state.
He challenged the current administration to explain to the whole world why they have deliberately decided to abandon the people through their retrogressive policies and program, noting that a government that cannot pay salary and provide basic social amenities is not fit to remain in office.
He said his decision to rehabilitate the road is bore out of his desire to impact the people of the area, pointed out that the project is being sponsor solely by his family.
Hon. Faleke said when elected, the Abubakar Audu led administration in the state will work in partnership with the APC led federal government and international agencies to entrench the desire change especially on the federal roads in the state, noting that Obajana – Kabba, Kabba – Omuo, Okene – Ogori – Epemi, Ajaokuta – Itobe road and the prompt completion of the ongoing Kabba – Ilorin road which was awarded over two years ago would be giving adequate attention.
Faleke’s initiative is indeed a confirmation of the confidence reposed in him by Prince Abubakar Audu as his running mate for Kogi State governorship election.
It will be recalled that in an interview granted reporters in Lokoja and published on page 39 in The Nation newspaper of Thursday, October 15, 2015, he confidently described Faleke as a politician of note who,
1. Understands the concepts of development and has bundles of experience
2 Is believed to possess the leadership qualities that will be highly needed to move the state forward that is already in
shambles.
He also demonstrate the gesture when he visited Aiyetoro- Gbedde and put smile on the face of a little indigent girl whom he offered scholarship up to university level, this is not a matter of “dem say”,
I witnessed it myself, so the rescue mission has commence in earnest.
