Urhobo leaders today took a hard look at the recent judgments of the State and National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Asaba, describing the dismissal of the petition filed by All Progressives Congress (APC), Sapele Constituency as a good omen. “It is a sign of good things to come to Urhobo land” they said.
The remark of the leaders came amid similar sentiments expressed by the Delta State Elders Forum.
The APC candidate failed to rebut the presumption of regularity raised in favour of INEC’s official Declaration of Results which was in favour of PDP. He also failed to adduce satisfactory, cogent and credible evidence to prove all the grounds of his petition.
The leaders in a statement in Ughelli expressed satisfaction with the judgement.
They also congratulated Rt. Hon Ovwigho Igbuya on his victory at the tribunal and urged him to continue being the good ambassador of the Urhobo nation.
The statement signed by the spokesperson of Urhobo Unity Forum (UUF), Dr. Mudiaga Oghene praised Mister Speaker for offering high quality service to the state, raising the office of the speaker to greater heights and reaching out to the sick and vulnerable.
The statement also described Mister Speaker as a rare gem and an honest lawmaker.
“He is a complete gentleman in the real sense and every Deltan should emulate his steps”
