Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has concluded plans to give the first civilian Governor of the state, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha who died on Saturday a state burial.
Mr. Dickson on Wednesday reportedly visited the late governor’s burial site.
According to Sony Neme, who shared the pictures below on Facebook, Dickson yesterday visited the deceased proposed tomb.
“Gov Seriake Dickson minutes ago at Alamieyeseigha’s proposed tomb at Amassoma. The late Alamieyeseigha, a hero of d Niger Delta struggle, resource control and an albatross of Obasanjo’s 3rd term bid, had prepared his burial site long before his passage on Saturday.”
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said Dickson constituted the committee at an enlarged emergency State Executive Council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa.
The governor promised that Alamieyeseigha will be given a state burial.
