“When you feel you have pushed your life to the limit and you can’t go any further, give that obstacle one last push because that might be the one that gets you through that heavy door to success! If you don’t try that one last time, you may never know. Go for it!”

Topic — The Drunkard Man: Never Quit! [Saturday, September 30, 2017]

(Proverbs 4:20-26; Psalms 121:1-2).

The Late Dr. Ken McFarland loved to always tell this popular, funny but inspirational story which I am sure you must have heard at one time or the other. I am led to use it today:

“ A man who worked from 6 pm (night shift) – 6am normally walked home through the local town cemetery as a short-cut to his home. One night, as he was walking through the same regular route, he did not realize that during the day, a fresh grave had been dug in the very center of his path. He stepped right into the grave and started struggling to get out. His best efforts failed him. He decided to relax there till the morning when help would come. Just some few minutes later, a drunken man also using that shortcut, fell into the same grave hole. The drunken man fought desperately to climb out, crawling at the sides. The First man in the grave held the leg of the drunk and said, “Hey my friend, you can’t get out of here.”

For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father. — Philippians 2:9-11 (AMP)

Weak or strong? If you had to pick one of those words to describe yourself, which one would it be? I think most of us would probably say, “weak.” But did you know that we don’t have to remain defeated by our weaknesses?

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDENTS MANUAL LESSON FIVE (5): THE SANCTIFIED LIFE

LESSON FIVE (5): THE SANCTIFIED LIFE [SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST, 2017]

MEMORY VERSE: "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." – 1 Thessalonians 5:23

BIBLE PASSAGE: John 17:9-23

INTRODUCTION:

In the Old Testament, sanctification frequently denotes the ceremonial or ritual consecration of any person or thing to God. Thus, the Hebrews as a people were holy unto the Lord, through the covenant with its rites and atoning sacrifices (Exodus 31:13). Sanctification is the second work of grace after salvation that every believer must experience. The understanding of the concept, process and practice of sanctification shall be dealt with in this lesson with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The treasury that is spoken of here is a place located in the Women's Court that was in the temple complex but was not part of the temple itself. Women were not allowed in the temple, so the fact that this widow was casting her offering into the treasury verifies the location of the treasury.

He kept on remembering new things to write about the goodness of God in his life, and by the time he was done with that, the entire time was taken. So he wrote at the bottom of his script "NO TIME FOR SATAN".

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? Ecclesiastes 4:9‭-‬11

Sometimes, we get into some messy situations, seemingly too deep that we don’t want any other person in on it. In such instances we imagine that staying away from people and trying to deal with the issues on our own is the best option we've got. The truth is, when we isolate ourselves things may get even worse, as the issue bears down on us more, if we dont get access to those who can help us through it. Paul understood this, and in Hebrews 10:25, he admonished us not to forsake "the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

The parable underscores the problem of the body of Christ today. Many believers are still in Mount Sinai. They are yet to come to Mount Zion. In Hebrews 12:21-24, the scriptures declare that we have come unto Mount Zion and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood that speaks better things than that of Abel. Beloved, we have come to the Mount of mercy. The Mount of grace! On this mount, God is not looking at your performance.

Although isolation is probably always a desirable public health measure, quarantine is more controversial as it can inflict significant social, psychological, and economic costs without resulting in the detection of many infected individuals! When isolation is ineffective, the use of quarantine will be most beneficial when there is significant transmission rate.

Welcome to today’s devotional! There was a Korean widow who was supported majorly by her two sons. The elder son sold umbrellas while the younger son sold sunglasses. The old woman worried every single day because when it was sunny, the older son had a bad market. If it rained, the younger son couldn’t sell sunglasses. So, no matter the weather, she worried! Then one day, an old man visited them and saw this woman looking so pale and skinny. He was forced to ask what the matter was. “Oh old man, I am just worried and I worry all the time. No matter the weather, one of my sons is always broke and that affects me badly.” The old man smiled and said: “Oh no, my friend: resist worrying because you are blessed. No matter the weather, you always win because one of your sons will always sell. There are many who do not have such blesses opportunities.” With that, the woman lifted her hands and began to dance because she suddenly discovered that truly, no matter what happens, there is always something to be thankful to for!

Joyce Meyer's Daily 27 September 2017 Devotional: Learn to Wait

Topic: Learn to Wait [Wednesday September 27, 2017]

The LORD your God is in your midst, a Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. — Zephaniah 3:17 (AMP)

People often ask me, “How can I know for sure whether I'm hearing from God or just making things up?”

I believe the answer is to learn to wait. With big decisions, we often feel the need to hurry. We must do something and do it right now! But godly wisdom tells us to wait until we have a clear picture of what we are to do and when we are to do it.

Memorise: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19

Read: Mark 6:35-42

35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Text: Proverbs 19:10-20

Key Verse: "House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD" (Proverbs 19:14).

As a wife and mother in a small 18th century English parish, Susanna Wesley herself received little recognition for how she managed her household, raised and educated more than a dozen children and coped with an idealistic and occasionally difficult clergyman-husband. Yet, from her personal influence and loving home, came a son who would experience spiritual awakening and have a worldwide ministry.

Matthew 23:12 "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted."

Text: Matthew 23:12

He who thinks that he will be exalted by acting as a servant, pretending to be humble so that he will receive the promise of God's Word, is sadly mistaken. Hypocrisy is an attitude or motive.

With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. Proverbs 7:21-23. Read: Pro 7:6-20

One of the ego of the natural man is that, when a woman makes advances at him with all her body language to suggest to the man, I need you for a relationship, when he finally yields to her, guys usually boast of it to their friends that they did not approach the lady but she did. You might not have experienced it when you were still swimming in the world, but many guys can testify to this.

Seeds of Destiny 27 September 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Industry; God’s Attraction For The Anointing

Topic — Industry; God’s Attraction For The Anointing [Wednesday September 27, 2017]

Scripture: And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. 1 Samuel 16:11.

Thought For The Day: Industrious people are instruments in the Hands of God while idle people are instruments in the hands of satan, the devil.

The anointing, which is God’s abiding Presence with a man, is the secret of greatness in life. When God is with a man, everything good in life is with him. On the other hand, when a man lacks God’s Presence, he lacks everything in life. This means that the Presence of God attracts every other thing to a man.

“When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.” - (Deuteronomy 24:19 KJV)

In the Bible days, what they had was an agrarian society. And God instructed them not to clean out everything when harvesting. God said this on purpose so that something will be left for other people who may not be in a position to provide for themselves. In other words, don’t clean the plate, leave some pieces of meat. The bible is teaching us the way of life.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. - Ephesians 6:12

Unfortunately most of us don’t know the first thing about fighting the kind of war this scripture refers to. For, as Ephesians 6:10-12 says, it’s not a battle of flesh and blood, but of the spirit.

Over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14

While removing the price tag from an item of winter clothing I had purchased, I smiled at these words on the back: “WARNING: This innovative product will make you want to go outdoors and stay there.”  When properly clothed for the climate, a person can survive and even thrive in harsh and changing weather conditions.
