A dipstick survey carried out by Nigeria’s number one online classifieds site, OLX has uncovered what Nigerians look out for when buying used cars.

According to OLX Country Manager, Lola Masha, the research was carried out to identify what is most important to our users when buying used cars. “This information will enable us educate them on what to really look out for when in the market to buy a used vehicle”.

Saraki: Tension as Senate resumes today

There was palpable tension at the Senate yesterday ahead of its resumption today in the heat of the credibility crisis rocking its leadership on account of the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on alleged false assets declaration.

Heightening the tension was a move reportedly being made to beam searchlights on assets declaration forms of the 27 senators that escorted Bukola Saraki to CCT last Tuesday when he was docked.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari pledged Monday at the United Nations to rescue the schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram fighters in 2014 and to defeat the Islamist militia.

“One of our major aims is to rescue the Chibok girls alive and unharmed,” he said to applause, making his first address to the General Assembly since taking office earlier this year.

This is an amazing footage that shows an unborn baby inside a heavily pregnant woman dancing and moving her belly in a most hypnotic fashion. The unnamed woman videoed her bump which started moving in a similar fashion to John Hurt in Alien.

Hon. Igbuya has respect for women, Says Ebireri

Nigerian Researchers Explore Health Benefits Of Culinary Spices, Herbs And Others

Culinary Spices and Herbs

Nigerian researchers at the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, have explored the biopotency role of culinary spices and herbs and their chemical constituents in health and commonly used spices in Nigerian dishes and snacks.

The Nigerian Army has said that some elders and leaders of Borno state and other states of the North East are working against the resolve by the military and other security agencies to ensure they bring the terrorists activities of Boko Haram group to an end by December this year in accordance with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive.

There were indications on Friday that members of the Senate Unity Forum had started wooing senators loyal to the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Niger Delta leaders tell Buhari, Oyegun, others to remove Oshiomhole

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress [APC] says it has come to it as a huge surprise that the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], Bro. Felix Obuah should be issuing a press release through his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Jerry Needam alluding to a threat of legal action by the former governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi even after it has been widely published in the local and national media that the former governor has instituted a N300 billion libel suit against Felix Obuah, PDP and others.

Power couple Jay Z and Beyonce recently took a holiday on the Galactica Star, an ultra-luxury yacht reportedly owned by Nigerian energy magnate Kola Aluko.

According to Business Insider, the yacht, which costs £50 million (€65 million, $73 million), is 65 metres in length and can travel at 28 knots (32 mph) in favourable conditions.

The governing All Progressives Congress (APC) is divided over the arraignment of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Tuesday.

A section of the leadership in Abuja is angry that it was “shut out” of the power-loop in the party while some are angry that the party, by being silent, is tacitly “backing the humiliation of an arm of government through the arraignment of the Senate President.

June 9 was the day Bukola Abubakar Saraki emerged the President of Nigeria’s Senate. Since then, the masses have continued to yearn endlessly for meaningful change in their well-being. But the major changes witnessed thus far from the Legislature have been different shades of controversies—all bordering on the venal travails of Bukola Saraki.

If you experience a loss at any point in life, know that it’s a time to stay calm and not a time to lose heart. If you can wait to receive specific instructions from the Lord, it will expedite the recovery of your loss. The reason why many losses of God’s children have not been recovered is because they have not found time to seek the face of God on the matter. As you seek God’s face concerning those good things you have lost, the Lord will give you a word that will lead to their recovery.

Many years ago, while we were building the first big auditorium at the Redemption Camp, we needed a lot of wood. We paid the government board in charge of sawmills in Edo state, Nigeria, to have this wood supplied to us. A few weeks to our convention, this government board decided to shut down all sawmills in the state. While pacing up and down asking God what to do, the Lord asked me what I knew about the Kingdom of God. To me, this question was irrelevant and I wanted to say so, but I cautioned myself and began to say that I knew about the Kingdom of God”. He concurred. Then I said “The Kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.” He agreed. This continued until I exhausted all I could remember on the subject matter. Eventually, I said “Since the days of John the Baptist, the Kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent taketh it by force.” Then He replied, “That is where we are going. Do you want your wood? Give me a violent offering.” That was on a Saturday; on Sunday, I shared this with my children and we gave a violent offering. On Monday, the governor of Edo state dissolved this government Board and reconstituted another one, which immediately reopened all sawmills. On Tuesday, someone who had no money to give brought his trailer for us to use as long as we wanted. On Wednesday, someone came to give us bags of nails. Several other people also brought materials for the building. Within two weeks, the auditorium was ready; all because I received an instruction from the Lord. The instruction that will lead to a full recovery of your losses shall be given to you this season. When you seek God’s face and He tell you what to do, don’t argue with Him; go ahead and obey the Lord and you will recover your losses. It is your recovery period this season!

Key Point: For every loss, there is a recovery strategy which can be found with the Great Restorer – Jesus Christ.

Delta State: DSS urged to probe bribery allegation

The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Henry Ebireri on Wednesday urged the Directorate of State Service (DSS) to investigate the alleged attempt to bribe the Election Tribunal judges and identify those behind it.

In a statement issued in Asaba, Ebireri said “This is necessary in order to forestall denting of image which false reports could create in the minds of the public.”

Hon. Igbuya mourns Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, congratulates Olu-elect

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ovwigho Igbuya has described late Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II as a famous traditional ruler who constructed bridges of friendship among Nigerians.

“The late Olu of Warri was an experienced leader and a wise king” the speaker said.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Henry Ebireri, the speaker commiserated with members of the royal family and the Itsekiri people at home and abroad over the demise of Ogiame Atuwatse II.

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has called on muslims to use the Ed-El-Kabir celebration as a period for displaying the virtues of tolerance, understanding and good neighborliness.

In a message to muslims on this year’s Ed-El-Kabir celebration, Awoniyi called on muslims to follow Allah’s command, urged muslims not to see the period as a period only for merry making and other anti social activities that may hinder the celebration, but to reflect on the significance of the season.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has barred the lawmaker representing Ondo-Central senatorial district, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, from attending South-West caucus meetings, Punch correspondent has learnt.

It was learnt that the senator was ostracised for allegedly working against the interest of the party’s South-West leadership and for taking sides with Senate President Bukola Saraki.
