Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 31, 2017 devotional: He Will Multiply You

Joel and Victoria Osteen’s daily October 31, 2017 devotional: He Will Multiply You

Today’s Scripture: "And I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly." - (Genesis 17:2, AMPC)

Topic: He Will Multiply You [Tuesday October 31, 2017]

God is in the multiplication business. It doesn’t matter what your need is today, God wants to increase you!

One time in the Old Testament, God simply multiplied the sound of four men’s footsteps and caused them to sound like a mighty army. When their enemies heard them coming, they took off running. Thousands of people, thousands of troops running for their lives, scared to death, thinking they were being attacked by a massive army, when in fact, it was just four people.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Joyce Meyer's Daily 31 October 2017 Devotional: Change Your Definition of Prayer

Topic: Change Your Definition of Prayer [Tuesday October 31, 2017]

In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted but needed] and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him Who was [always] able to save Him [out] from death, and He was heard because of His reverence toward God [His godly fear, His piety, in that He shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of the Father]. Hebrews 5:7

Have you ever heard the biblical phrase “pray without ceasing”? To many, that sounds daunting and impossible. How could anyone bow their head, kneel, and pray 24 hours a day?

When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, the king declared: “…Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.” (Daniel 6:16 KJV) Child of God, you will be delivered, no matter the situation. By spiritual mandate, I intercept every spiritual conspiracy against your life. It will never stand. The God that delivered Daniel will deliver you. I know that you have prayed and fasted through this entire month, and I know that incredible things are already happening, and I declare to you by the authority of God’s Word, that you are coming out.

For our citizenship is in heaven; from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. — Philippians 3:20 (NASB)

If you are moving to a new home, you want to know all about the community to which you are going. And since we will spend eternity some place, we ought to know something about it. The information concerning heaven is found in the Bible. When we talk about heaven, earth grows shabby by comparison. Our sorrows and problems here seem so much less, when we have keen anticipation of the future.

John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

Text: John 17:3

In order to fully understand what eternal life is, it is helpful to understand what it is not. Eternal life is not living forever. Everyone lives forever in either heaven or hell. Also, eternal life is not living forever in the blessings of heaven as opposed to being tormented in hell.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13

Ruth cannot tell her story without tears. In her mid-eighties and unable to get around much anymore, Ruth may not appear to be a central figure in our church’s life. She depends on others for rides, and because she lives alone she doesn’t have a huge circle of influence.

When Dan Edwards was ordained as a missionary, Robert Murray McCheyne, in a letter, advised him, "In great measure, according to the purity and perfections of the instrument, will be the success. Hypocrisy is “claiming to have moral standards or believes to which one’s behavior does not conform.” It is pretense! In fact, the ancient Greek word for HYPOCRISY comes from the word for a stage actor or one who wears a mask.

It is not necessarily the fact that they sin that makes men/ women hypocrites, it’s the fact that they don’t acknowledge it. They don’t admit that their lives contradict what they say. They are not authentic but impostors!  Consider this:

Topic: Raise the Standard [Monday October 30, 2017]

What do you do to honor God? A lot of times people think, “Oh, I go to church to honor God. I read my Bible to honor God. I sing and clap in worship to honor God.” And yes, those are ways to honor God, but did you know that you also honor God when you get to work on time? You honor God when you are productive each day and respect the people who are in authority over you. You honor God when you excel in your career.

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. — 2 Corinthians 3:18

Prayer is so powerful because it joins the hearts of people on earth with the heart of God in heaven. When we pray, we connect with God, and He affects our daily lives beyond our comprehension.

We understand from Scriptures that success is the birthright of every child of God. However, it is not just ordinary success but outstanding one. By this we mean, standing out among our peers. Also, all-round success is God’s plan for us and as such when we succeed, God is delighted; because it glorifies Him. As it is written: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).

Beloved, as children of God I believe that we have no doubt about the power that is in the name of Jesus. According to the bible, God gave Jesus a name that is above all names. The name was bestowed upon him. He also earned it when he spoilt principalities and powers. Because of this, God gave him a name and said I will raise you above principalities and powers. And when Jesus was ascending into heaven, he gave that name to the church and said in my name you shall cast out devils. But the question is how many believers are mentioning that name?

As I read the Bible, I find love to be the supreme and dominant attribute of God. The promises of God’s love and forgiveness are as real, as sure, as positive, as human words can make them. But the total beauty of the ocean cannot be understood until it is seen, and it is the same with God’s love. Until you actually experience it, until you actually possess it, no one can describe its wonders to you.

That's bondage, and does not have to be the case for a Christian. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy.

Sometime ago, I was a bit angry with myself because I did not wake up on time to pray in the morning as I should. However, before the devil could use my anger against me, I realised that my challenge was that I did not wake up on time to pray whereas there were those who did not wake up at all that day – they slept and ended in death. I also realised that I was angry that I overslept whereas there are those who can pay any amount of money in order to have a good sleep at night.

Read Psalms 30:1-5

1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

Text: 1 Kings 15:16-24

Key Verse: "There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me" (1 Kings 15:19).

"The Bible," A.W. Tozer asserted, "recognizes no faith that does not lead to obedience, nor does it recognize any obedience that does not spring from faith. The two are opposite sides of the same coin." This was what Asa, who ruled Judah for 41 years, could not realise. As a reformer, he embarked on total cleansing of his kingdom with the removal of the priests, who engaged in immorality.

“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;” - (2 Timothy 3:14 KJV)

So many believers go about with the mentality that they are cursed and so nothing works for them. It appears they have more faith in the activities of the devil than in what God is doing. Some are coming to church regularly and yet they are not growing and because of that the devil has made minced meat of them. The devil does not care how long you have been coming to church, how much you donate or how many Bible translations you have as long as you don’t know your identity. The devil came to Adam to make him doubt his identity. He said “has God said…?” In other words, do you really believe what God said? I thought that he would drop that trick but he still came to Jesus and said “if you are the Son of God…” In other words, he was asking Jesus if he really believes that He is the Son of God. This was just after God openly declared “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”

Our Daily Manna October 28, 2017: ODM devotional – Life’s Mysteries And Questions

Topic: Life’s Mysteries And Questions [Saturday, October 28, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Isaiah 3;10-11; Psalm 37:30-40

Rev. (PAPA) Ayo Oritsejafor of the Word of Life Bible Church Warri, Nigeria and who was the former president of the CHRISTIN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, CAN, had a bitter experience many years ago in 1995.

He was travelling from Warri, the oil city, to Benin City, a nearby State Capital for a programme in which he was to minister. He took along some of his key members, including women. Along the way, just before Benin City, there was a fatal motor accident and he lost two of them, one a happily married woman/mother. The other, a man, left behind his wife and children. Now consider the fact that they were going on a mission for the Kingdom and they were obediently following their pastor.

Seeds of Destiny 28 October 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — The Necessity Of Daily Spiritual Fire

Topic: The Necessity Of Daily Spiritual Fire [Saturday October 28, 2017]

Scripture: And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. Leviticus 6:12

Thought For The Day: Yesterday’s mantle cannot handle today’s battle.

The maintenance of a constant high spiritual temperature is critical to a productive spiritual life. God has no stationary position for His children. That is why Proverbs 4:18 says, the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The ideal situation is to be progressively increasing in spiritual intensity.

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 15:57, The Amplified Bible

Victors! More than conquerors! That's what the Bible says we are. I know you've heard that many times before, but today I want you to let the reality of it really sink in. I want you to spend some time meditating about what those terms actually mean.

Read: Jeremiah 17:5–8, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 15–17; 2 Timothy 2

They will be like a tree planted by the water . . . its leaves are always green. Jeremiah 17:8

When friends moved into a new home, they planted wisteria near their fence and looked forward to the lavender blossom that would appear after five years of growth. Over two decades they enjoyed this plant, carefully pruning and tending it. But suddenly the wisteria died, for their neighbors had poured some weed killer by the other side of the fence. The poison seeped into the wisteria’s roots and the tree perished—or so my friends thought. To their surprise, the following year some shoots came through the ground.

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 28 October 2017 Devotional - Be A Witness, Not A Judge

Topic: Be A Witness, Not A Judge – Saturday October 28, 2017.

John 16:8 "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"

Text: John 16:8

It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to reprove sin, righteousness, and judgment. It is not our ministry. We are simply witnesses. A witness is not the judge or the jury. A witness simply relates what he has experienced, thereby providing evidence to the truth of something. We are to witness in word and deed, to the truth of Jesus being alive in us and let God be the one who convicts. We are simply to testify to what we have seen or to what has happened to us.
