Pretentious Sympathizers

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Pretentious Sympathizers [30/04/2017]

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. Mark 5:38. Read: Mk 5:35-43

The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Only God that searches the heart knows what is in it , which is the major reason you must trust God for everything and everyone. You will make a grievous mistake to trust man direct, you only trust the grace of God upon a man's life. There are many that pretend to be friends but are enemies in disguise, they show great concern towards you but green snake under the green grass. You must select your friends wisely and pray that God should reveal to you all your unfriendly friends.

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. — 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional April 30, 2017 - Be a Cheerful Giver

Topic: Be a Cheerful Giver [Sunday April 30, 2017]

Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (that is, He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver.... And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance. - 2 Corinthians 9:7-8, The Amplified Bible

Some people say you need to “give till it hurts.” Don’t you believe it. God doesn’t want gifts given in pain. He wants gifts given in joy! In fact, those are the only kinds of gifts that please Him.

Topic: Double Portion [Sunday April 30, 2017]

Text: Deuteronomy 21:10-17

Key Verse: "But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his" (Deuteronomy 21:17).

In every family, there are some special privileges and rights that every firstborn enjoys. It is generally referred to as birthright, which ascribes to the firstborn the privilege of inheritance. This could vary in form or size from one family to another. In some cases, it could be estates willed to the individuals while in others, it could be a little less than that. But whatever the case, it is expected that the recipient attach utmost importance to it. The first son in Israel had the birthright.

Topic: Be Consistently Excellent [Sunday, 30th April 2017]

In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be excellent and lovely to those of Israel who have escaped. Isaiah 4:2

One of the keys to excellence is consistency. When an individual consistently maintains a high standard over a long period of time, the individual is said to be excellent. A product is termed to be excellent when it delivers a high level of value consistently. There are people or products that deliver excellence in fleeting moments, without consistency. They hit the high, and just fizzle out of circulation. That's not what God has willed us to be. He has willed us to be consistently excellent.

When I was in the hospital in Hawaii, I read again of the shocking events which led up to the destruction of the United States fleet at Pearl Harbor. On that fateful day of December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked. We know now that that attack was invited by our failure to be always vigilant. The result was the destruction of our fleet-the cause was tragic indifference. When comfort and ease and pleasure are put ahead of duty and conviction, progress is always set back.

Little And Despised?

Author: Emode Victor
A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Little And Despised? [29/04/2017]

I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts. Psalms 119:141. Read: Ps 1:1-3

Do men despise you because of your status or you even write yourself off before men. Do you believe that nothing good will ever be done through you because of your present predicament? Has men said to you that, you won't amount to anything in life? Have you concluded yourself as "Not do well person" due to your family history? Listen to me, no matter how genuine they may seem, they're just mere superstitions. It was concluded that nothing good would ever come out from Nazareth, yet, Jesus Christ (the Saviour of the human race) came from there. Jn 1:46. And he (Gideon) said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. Jdg 6:15. Yet, he delivered the Israelite.

Topic: Fear Leads to Worry [Saturday April 29, 2017]

And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? — Matthew 6:27

Fear and worry are closely related. You might say fear is the parent of every kind of worry because every worry starts as a fear. The Bible clearly teaches that God’s children are not to worry. When we worry, we rotate our minds around and around a problem and come up with no answers. The more we do it, the more anxious we feel. When we worry, we actually torment ourselves with a type of thinking that produces no good fruit. Worry starts with our thoughts, but it affects our moods and even our physical bodies.

Restore to me again the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. — Psalm 51:12 (TLB)

It is not unusual for persons in their early twenties to defect from their early teaching. The reasons are many. Perhaps their exposure to unbelief “took” better than their exposure to belief. This is often the case, for the Bible says, “The heart of man is deceitful above all things.”

Being loved is the second-best thing in the world, while loving someone is the best. When you love, you do yourself a favour because you open the floodgates of love from others to you. Hatred or a feeling of revenge does more harm to the hater than the hated.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

It was very late when we stopped for the night at a country inn outside of Munich. We were delighted to see that our cozy room had a balcony, although an oppressive fog made it impossible to see into the darkness. But when the sun rose a few hours later, the haze began to fade. Then we could see what had been grimly shrouded the night before—a completely idyllic scene—peaceful and lush green meadow, sheep grazing with tiny tinkling bells about their necks, and big white clouds in the sky that looked exactly like more sheep—huge, fluffy sheep!

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.  Proverbs  13:3

Most of us have heard the saying that "it is he who tells the king that someone said the king’s mouth smells that actually said the king’s mouth smells."  The words of our mouth can either push us forward or bring us down. I had an experience some days back, that if only I had kept my mouth shut for just a few minutes, things would have ended well. At one point or another in our small lives, we’ve had times we deeply regretted something we said. Well, we’re not alone. The wisest man ever before Jesus came had a lot to tell us about the words of our mouth, and how to speak. We’ll pick just two.

When you join in covenant with Him through Jesus Christ, He makes all things available to you. What does “all” mean? It means exactly that—all. Do you need peace? He is your peace. Do you need joy? He has supernatural joy which gives you strength. Do you need restoration in your life? He is your restorer. Do you need rest? He has it. Provision? It’s yours. Protection? That too! He is the single source of everything that you will ever need, and He will freely give it to you!

There is always numerous reasons to either do  or not to do a particular thing, the choice is ours to choose from. Hebrews 11 is considered the hall of faith. All the Patriarchs recorded in this very verse faced their challenges of life, yet did exploits for God. Some died for their faith. Winning Wisdom: The Little Weapon 2

Topic: The Little Weapon 2 [Friday, 28th April 2017]

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - Proverbs 15:4

The tongue, as we have established is a very important tool in the day of battle. What else does scriptures tell us of this little weapon? Our anchor scripture says “a wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.” James 3:6 says of the tongue: “and the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” Strong words for such a small member. Now what does “wholesome” means. It means promoting health or well being of mind or spirit; sound in body, mind, or morals. This simply tells us that the tongue which is “full of iniquity” can be and should be wholesome.

After considering the situation—even the $600 towing and parking fine—Mulholland was frustrated, but he decided not to be angry with the person he would work with to retrieve his car. Instead of venting his feelings, Mulholland wrote a humorous poem about the situation and read it to the worker he met at the tow yard. 6 Inexpensive Ways to Celebrate Workers

Workers are the life wire of any organisation. They are the ones who ensure that your day-to-day business operations work smoothly and uninterrupted. Hence, it is important to celebrate your workers so that they will continue giving their best. There is an opportunity now for you to appreciate them. It can go a long way in encouraging your workers to do more. However, do not to restrict your thank you to May 1st only.

On Corruption Fight, Why President Buhari Should Sustain Maina’s Pension Fund Recovery Efforts

In Nigeria at the moment, there’s a word, or more appropriately buzzword that resonates everywhere: It is a word that even children in nursery school may be familiar with given every usual reference to it at the slightest opportunity.   Indeed, there is hardly any news item from Nigeria these days that does not make mention of it. CORRUPTION! If it is not about how Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is prosecuting some corrupt people by charging them to court, it is about monies the government is seemingly recovering or has traced and recovered as was observed with the 13 billion naira stashed in a residential flat in Ikoyi, Lagos. At times it could even be the tale, as we are ever so often regaled with as well, of corruption fighting back! That is a familiar line from both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, a.k.a spokesman for the Federal government. Of course, people fight to protect their interest.

God created each of us with a free will. This gives us the ability to make our own decisions apart from outside influence. Satan tries to force us to do things by placing outside pressure on us, but God attempts to lead us by His Holy Spirit. Jesus is not demanding or harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing. He is humble, gentle, meek, and lowly (see Matthew 11:29-30). We are indeed complex creatures. Our mind can think one thing, while our emotions want something else and our will certainly seems to have a mind of its own.

The five sense organs: the eye, for seeing; the ears for hearing; the skin for feeling; the nose for smelling; and the tongue for tasting. The tongue, we were taught, has little taste buds with which we appreciate and differentiate tastes, ranging from sweet to bitter to sour. The tongue we also know is very important in producing speech. Without which, no word can be formed with the mouth, and if not properly “cut” as a child, the words formed will be distorted and sometimes unrecognizable. With this, we know that the tongue is a very important organ in the body. But that’s not all. The tongue is also a very important weapon!

6 Ways To Deal With Insecurities

Insecurities have a way of interfering with our lives in very inconvenient and sometimes frustrating ways. This is why the need to deal with them can’t be overemphasized. Jumia Travel and Jumia Mobile Week share 6 ways to successfully deal with insecurities.

Vocalize Your Self-Critical Thoughts

The primary fuel for insecurities is the critical inner voice people have formed concerning certain area(s) of their lives out of painful or difficult life experiences. You need to learn to vocalize these self-critical thoughts or write them down in the second person, so rather than saying “I’m fat. I’m ugly”, you would instead say, “You’re fat. You’re ugly”. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Philippians 3:9. Read: Isa 64:5-7

Please note, when you say it's not possible, that particular thing remains impossible to you. Because all things are possible to them that believe in the God of possibilities. Many do not believe any can be perfect and righteous as Jesus said in Matt 5:48 because they don't understand how it works. The righteousness of a man the Bible says is like a filthy rag. This is not the righteousness we are talking about. No. Not the righteousness that comes from the law.
