Prophet Kayode Abiara, the General-Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide in an interview with Kemi Ashefon asked the Federal Government to pardon all those who return Nigeria’s looted funds once they are being called out. Abiara says those who have stolen Nigeria’s funds need to be probed, but then we can’t waste much time on them as there is a whole lot of work that still needs to be done in the country. He then pleaded that whoever is found guilty and return looted funds should be forgiven so they won’t waste our time.

Arms deal probe: EFCC set to quiz Badeh, ex-NAF chief, 14 others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will this week interrogate at least 16 military officers as part of its investigations into $2.1bn arms scandal.

It was learnt on Saturday that among those to be quizzed were the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh (retd.) and a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal MD Umar (retd.).

No doubt, I imagine your smile at the title of this piece with much inquisition to read about the three thieves inside president Buhari’s cabinet. I was as greatly stunned as you are when I thought about them but the impetus to write on it was founded on the statement recently credited to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially in the heat of the ongoing probe of the diversion of state funds meant to procure ammunitions for the Nigerian Military. Although, I had since stayed mute, not wanting to comment on this ongoing development in the country, perhaps because of the euphoria of the prosecution and possibly our past experience with similar development.

As at today, only five people in the entire world are richer than Mark Zuckerberg. The Facebook founder and CEO saw his net worth surge overnight Wednesday to around $47 billion on the strength of the social network's latest quarterly results, pushing Zuckerberg up to number six on the list of the world's richest people.

Kisii, Nyamira – Residents of Nyamira County in Kenya were in shock on Thursday after the body of a woman who died before her dowry was paid was exhumed following a court order.

Police supervised the exhumation.

According to the area chief, Alice Kemunto Bundi was married for more than 6 years. Her in-laws confirmed that the dowry had not been settled.

The learned Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria yesterday January 27, 2016 upheld the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike won the April 11, 2015 Governorship election in Rivers State. The decision was a departure
from the earlier findings of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal which had both agreed with us that the conduct of the April 11, 2015 elections failed to comply substantially with the requirements of the Electoral Act.

The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, said it received with mixed feelings the Supreme Court judgment of yesterday, Wednesday January 27, 2016 upholding the appeal by Governor Nyesom Wike against the annulment of his election as governor of Rivers State.

PDP spokesman Olisa Metuh regains his freedom

Olisa Metuh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman has finally been released from Kuje Prison on Thursday after meeting his bail conditions.

Metuh, who is facing trial over alleged N400 million fraud, was arrested by operatives of the anti-graft agency from his Abuja home on January 5.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in a letter to both the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, accused the National Assembly of being the cesspool of corruption in the country over the years. In the letter dated January 13, 2016, and received at the Senate registry on the 18th of this month, Obasanjo berated the federal lawmakers for persistently giving themselves unlawful allowances through annual budgets shrouded in secrecy.

‘Polygamy is illegal in Eritrea’ – Eritreans react to story that men must marry 2 wives

A fake story originally posted by a Somali website which stated that an unnamed “activist” posted a memo on a social media site allegedly from the Eritrean government asking men to marry at least two wives due to shortage of men caused by war, has gone viral.

Nigeria, a country of over 170 million people, is one that, after many decades, oil continues to remain its major source of revenue generation – about 95 per cent. Today, the “once upon a time” glowing commodity is no longer as juicy as it used to be say back in the mid-2014. [CNN] A relatively new mosquito-borne virus is prompting worldwide concern because of an alarming connection to a neurological birth disorder and the rapid spread of the virus across the globe.

The Zika virus, transmitted by the aggressive Aedes aegypti mosquito, has now spread to at least 25 countries. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is warning pregnant women against travel to those areas; health officials in several of those countries are telling female citizens to avoid becoming pregnant, in some cases for up to two years.
