The world's largest indoor theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventure located in Dubai is set to open its doors to fun seekers in August, indoor because the $1billion attraction is completely insulated from the hot Arabian weather and temperature is controlled.

Fear and worry are closely related. You might say fear is the parent of every kind of worry because every worry starts as a fear. The Bible clearly teaches that God’s children are not to worry. When we worry, we rotate our minds around and around a problem and come up with no answers. The more we do it, the more anxious we feel. When we worry, we actually torment ourselves with a type of thinking that produces no good fruit. Worry starts with our thoughts, but it affects our moods and even our physical bodies.

The recent sanction carried out by the National Judicial Council (NJC) on Justice Idris Evuti and Justice Tanko Usman of the Niger State High Court for allegedly falsifying their dates of birth, and on Justice O. Gbajabiamila of the Lagos State High Court for delaying delivery of judgment for about two years, is a courageous and commendable action. Coming on the heels of the Federal Government’s anti-corruption drive, and especially on the sanitisation of the judiciary, the NJC has candidly matched action with the forceful declaration made by the Attorney-General of the Federation to deal with unscrupulous elements on the Bench.

Fidelity Bank has stated that the $115million wired to the bank by former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke was duly reported to the authorities.

The bank’s statement comes after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Fidelity Bank managing director, Nnamdi Okonkwo for receiving $115m from Diezani and forwarding same to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials across the country before the 2015 general elections.

With the incessant clashes between herdsmen and farmers across the country, Nigeria appears headed for another crisis, this time on too many fronts and with such devastating effect as could engulf the whole nation. The recent massacre in Agatu in Benue State and killings in Gassaka and Bali local government areas of Taraba State coupled with the earlier kidnap of a former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae as well as the killing of one of his security guards by herdsmen upped the anxiety. Two days ago in Nimbo, Enugu State, 46 persons at the last count were butchered by the herdsmen. Now, the whole nation is in tears. Indeed, the matter has become such as can threaten the corporate entity called Nigeria. And if there is any time when President Muhammadu Buhari would ever be called upon to see this as a national emergency, it is now.

President Muhammadu Buhari today met with Principal Officers of the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives at the State House over 2016 budget.

Senate President Bukola Saraki, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr Udo Udoma, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara were in attendance.

A Nigerian academic, Prof. Abiodun Alao will tomorrow deliver a professorial inaugural lecture at King’s College, University of London, making him first black African scholar to deliver such lecture since the school was established in 1829.

Alao is a professor of African Studies and was conferred with professorial title about two years ago alongside a Nigerian counterpart in the institution’s African Leadership Centre, Prof. Funmi Olonisakin, making them the first black Africans to attain professorial cadre at the institution since its establishment.

Lagos – Coventry University has launched a £500 000 scholarship and announced the establishment of the Africa Institute for Transformational Entrepreneurship (AITE).

These aim to boost socio-economic development across the continent.

The total cost of the projects is £1 million.

Senator Shehu Sani, (APC Kaduna Central), on Monday inaugurated the distribution of 60 units of electricity transformers to communities in his senatorial district in Kaduna State.

Drones are helping scientists find biofuel-producing plants

Researchers studying sorghum plants as a biofuel source are turning to drones as a way of quickly and efficiently collecting data about their crops, reports MIT. The drone surveillance program for plants is being developed by Carnegie-Mellon spinoff Near Earth Autonomy, a company known for its smart drone technology that combines sensors and software to make a drone capable of recording and analyzing its surroundings.

When Nigeria’s immediate past Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said the other day that a lack of political will to save oil revenue under the Goodluck Jonathan administration was responsible for the challenges facing the country currently, she was right.

Given that the oil price-based fiscal rule put in place in 2004 helped the country to save $22 billion during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria should have continued with the culture. Those savings became very handy in cushioning the impact of the 2008/2009 global financial crisis on Nigeria’s economy, when fiscal stimulus of five per cent of gross Domestic Product was financed from the savings.

Sir: Time and time again, the Senate has always conducted its affairs in a manner that is insensitive and at variance with the sensibilities of the Nigerian people. The latest issue that is the subject of public discourse apart from the many follies of the Senate, which is a threat to the sustenance and stability of our democracy, is the latest purchase of SUVs in these austere times of dwindling national funds.

PDP sold crude oil for $100 per barrel but contributed near-zero infrastructure

The government is holding one of its proposed Town Hall meetings in Lagos today. The meeting anchored by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, which is to give Nigerian citizens direct information about the government's policy plans was promised by the Presidency last month.

The Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Hon Babatunde Fashola SAN explained to the invited guests that "the right to know is important in democracy." He promised that the APC-led government was "result driven," and results in his department will be measured by the "numbers of roads finished and results that will translate to energy."

The ABL has been going very well, we have exceeded all our expectations and projections, our fan base is growing, our All Star weekend attracted hundreds of fans from outside Nigeria while the All Star game itself had more than 3000 people in attendance and we have been successful in redefining the value of sports and entertainment in Africa, but most importantly we are proud that our fans find value in this one of a kind innovation. Forgiveness is such a powerful gift from heaven above. It’s like a door on our heart. When we choose to forgive, it opens our heart so that we can receive everything God has in store for us. But when we hold onto unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment, it closes up our heart and keeps us from moving forward.
