The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, says electronic means of voting is inevitable in Nigeria.

Yabuku said this shortly before his confirmation as the chairman of the commission at the National Assembly, Abuja, on Thursday.

Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Mr Bode Ogunmola, raised the alarm while interacting with newsmen who visited the Secretariat of the Wada/Awoniyi Campaign Organisation in Lokoja, yesterday.

The strong pull of worldliness creates conflicts that are harmful to the growth of our faith. The pursuit of its pleasures produces covetousness, envy, fighting and arrogance. The believer’s only alternative is submission to God with a humble and repentant heart. This will produce a transformed attitude towards others as well. Submission and humility will help the Christian to avoid falling into the temptation of becoming proud, unjust and selfish.

I think the hardest part in any relationship is calling it off. With this development, Abraham obviously found himself in a dilemma. Should he kill Isaac as God commanded, how would the promise be fulfilled? And, if he refused to do what God asked him, would the promise still be there?

Many families and the society we live in today see it as a shame for marriageable single who are advanced in age, to remain unmarried. In fact, in places like the western part of Nigeria, when someone (especially a female), is approaching her late 20’s or 30s, eyebrows are being raised as to when that person would be married. Some families even go as far as arranging suitors for their children, not minding if they can get along with that individual or what they think.

It is futile to add to God’s word as adequately catalogued in the Bible. The Book is full, faultless and fortified with power. Isaiah was told by God to appear in public, stripped of his clothes for three years. He was to walk barefooted. This was a sign of humiliation and shame to an average man. Isaiah readily obeyed God, and carried out this divine assignment single-mindedly, not minding the social embarrassment associated with it.

Delta governor doles out N3bn to tribunal judges to rule in PDP’s favour

The Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, has compromised at least two of the three members of the tribunal handling governorship, House of Assembly and National Assembly elections petitions in the state, a judicial source and a security agent have disclosed to SaharaReporters.

According to one of the sources, Justice Umukoro had invited all the tribunal judges handling election petitions in Delta State to be his weekend guests in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State. Two of the three judges accepted the invitation, with the chairman, Justice Nasiru Gunmi, holding out. Justice Umukoro then allegedly shared N3 billion provided by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa between the judges. It was unclear if the chairman of the tribunal accepted any share of the bribe.

In today’s world, we find children of Christians, who are supposed to be light to others, departing from the faith. They engage in all sorts of despicable activities, thereby bringing mockery to the faith. Surprisingly, some of these children have ministers and church leaders as their parents and guardians, but the Word of God being preached by their parents is not reflected in them.
