“Have Patience. All things are difficult before they become easy.”

Topic: Sun Shines At Midnight: The Spiritual North Pole! [Thursday 31 August, 2017]

(1 Thessalonians 5:14:24).

Welcome to today’s devotional hour!Be reminded that the Northern Hemispher – North Poleof the earth, the sun shines at 12am (midnight) during summer! This strange phenomenon is caused by the fact that during summer, the North Pole is tipped towards the sun. Since the aert rotates on it axis once a day at the Arctic Circle (very cold regions of the earth) in one night a year (about June 21st), the sun does not set. Likewise, in one day a year, about December 21st, the sun does not rise! In which case, even at midnight(12am), the day looks as bright as 12 noon and eaqually as hot. One of the inhabitants said: “when it is still broad daylight even at 12am, I just don’t feel like going to bed, so I go out and cut the compound grass.” Is your God not wonderful? Oh! I wish I could one day visit the North Pole to experience sunshine at midnight!

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Ephesians 5:25

Jesus said the first members of His Church: "now ye are cleansed by the words which I have spoken to you" (John 15:3). This is a profound statement made by a Groom to His brides. His brides were impure, they were not up to standard. They were probably doing things that were hurting his feelings. They were probably being immature and acting unpleasantly. But all He was after was their cleansing. Cleansing here means development, growth, enhancement, betterment and stability. So, when she is in the wrong, he look out to bring her to the right.

Mark 14:3 "And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head."

Text: Mark 14:3-6

The spikenard was a fragrant plant, and its roots were used in Jesus' day to make an aromatic, costly perfume and ointment. The plant, itself, grows in the Himalaya mountains at an elevation of 11,000 to 17,000 feet. For centuries, it was used by Hindus as a medicine and perfume and was an actively traded commodity. Its great cost stemmed from that it had to be transported over 6,000 miles to reach Palestine, and depending on quality, it sold for as much as 400 denarii per pound (or $750 an ounce, is the modern purchasing equivalent). That made it more valuable than gold. This ointment was worth at least two and one-half times more than the thirty pieces of silver that Judas received for betraying the Lord, which is why Judas was so upset. This perfume was worth two and one-half times what Judas thought Jesus was worth.

Lord Howe Island is a small paradise of white sands and crystal waters off Australia’s east coast. When I visited some years ago, I was struck by its beauty. Here, one could swim with turtles and with fish like the shimmering trevally, while moon wrasses drifted nearby, flashing their neon colors like a billboard. In its lagoon I found coral reefs full of bright orange clownfish and yellow-striped butterfly fish that rushed to kiss my hand. Overwhelmed by such splendor, I couldn’t help but worship God.

The righteous hath hope in his death. — Proverbs 14:32

We don’t like to talk about death; it’s the forbidden subject of our generation. Yet it’s real for all of us. Sometimes on television I see motion pictures featuring actors who are no longer living. They seem very much alive in the picture, but they are dead. Some of them were my personal friends. Death is real, and when we die, that is a battle we have to fight all alone. Nobody can be with us in that hour, but David said he had found an answer that would take the fear of death away.

As long as you live on this earth, you’re going to be saddled with a weakness. What is it? The flesh and blood body you live in. It’s a body that’s subject to death. A body that’s subject to the physical world around you.

Topic: Understanding the Love and Kindness of God the Father — Thursday August 31, 2017.

Text: Psalm 130:3-4 (NLT), Romans 2:4 (NLT), Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
Lord, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. *Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? *The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

God uses His unrelenting love and kindness to draw us to Himself. He wants our understanding of His great and unimaginable love for us to motivate us to love Him, serve Him and do every single thing that we do. God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn the world but to save the world with His love, John 3:17. He doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, Psalm 103:10. He treats us based on what Christ has done for us. It is actually our understanding of the grace of God that teaches us to say yes to God and to say no to ungodliness, Titus 2:11-12 (NIV).

One of the greatest problems with many countries today is bad leadership. The tragedy of it all is that all the shortcomings of the past governments for which they were either toppled as in a military coup or voted out through the ballot box, are hardly corrected; they get worsened by succeeding administrations. This terrible scenario is also found in Christendom nowadays.

Do you know that when you are afflicted, God Himself gets afflicted too? How can it be, you ask? Hear what the Bible says in Isaiah 63:9, "In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old". So, that sickness in your body doesn't give God joy or glorify Him in anyway but cause Him sorrow. God has healed before, He still heals and forever He will continue to heal. Whatever sickness is in your body shall not escape the healing power of God today in Jesus Mighty Name. The provision of your healing has been made available in Christ Jesus. Because Jesus was never sick, from today onwards, that sickness in your body is terminated in Jesus Mighty Name.

The god father asked again: “where is the 3 million bucks you embezzled from me?” The lawyer interrupted: Sir, the man is a deaf mute and cannot understand you, but I can interpret for you.” The godfather said, “Well, ask him where my damn money is!” The lawyer using sign language, asked the accountant where the three million dollars was. Two people; different purposes, visions, and missions, lumped into one. Different taste, background, perspective, culture, lumped into one. Sometimes, different values, principles (we will talk about this more tomorrow) but still lumped into one, to fulfil the eternal purpose or cause that their King, the King of kings, have set out for them. While we appreciate the whole, we must also appreciate the 'two wholes' that make up the one whole lump. Yes, we must appreciate the individuals that are coming together, we must know and respect that it is probably two different worlds coming together. The earlier both the man and wife understands this, even before the nuptial ceremony, the better it would be for the whole lump.

He had kept that laid up in a napkin and he still possessed it. What he was missing and what the other servant had that caused the lord to give this pound to him was faithfulness. Dear Reader,

Welcome to another fruitful time in the presence of God. So far, I have discussed on the foundation that should be laid for the enhancement of oneness in your marriage.

This week, as I conclude this teaching, we shall be looking at “Keys to Sustaining Oneness in Marriage.”  It is not enough to be united as one, it has to be sustained. The reason Jesus came is to give abundant life, even in marriage. However, man must co-operate with God to make marriage a mini-paradise on earth, as it is supposed to be. The sustainability of your marriage does not depend on God, but on you.

One thing that we have come to know about God is that He does things with a cause in mind. We can conveniently substitute the word 'cause' with 'purpose'. Every family that comes together, as long they are part of the kingdom of God, are joined together for a purpose. At this time, you are both formally introduced to your parents, pastors, friends and relations. It is also the stage at which the dowry or bride price is paid in most cases as a demonstration of love for your would-be spouse.

A major secret of life is anchored on two major things: a conscience that is clear with God and a conscience that is clear with man. If our relationship with God and man is clear, reaching where we are meant to reach and becoming what we are meant to become on earth is a certainty.

Topic: You Hold the Key [Tuesday August 29, 2017]

I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. - Matthew 16:19

The Greek text of that scripture would literally read, “I give you the keys of the kingdom. Whatever you declare locked on earth is locked in heaven and whatever you declare unlocked on earth is unlocked in the heavenlies.”

I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. John 15:16

During the spring and summer, I admire the fruit growing in our neighbor’s yard. Their cultivated vines climb a shared fence to produce large bunches of grapes. Branches dotted with purple plums and plump oranges dangle just within our reach.

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 (KJV)

The law makes a demand on you for what you cannot supply but grace supplies to man what he does not deserve. The law will say you should do this and do that and you will find out that you can’t do them. The more you try, the more you fail. That is what religion is all about. But grace supplies to you what you do not earn, merit, or deserve. Whenever you see grace, it is always supplying. It is always giving and it will always say to you: step aside and let me do it for you. Grace removes obstacle! In other words, Grace is saying stop the fight, just sit down and let Me give it to you. Let Me meet you at the point of your need. All you need to do is to believe and receive.

DCLM Daily Manna 29 August, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi - Broken Ships

Topic: Broken Ships — Tuesday August 29, 2017.

Text: 2 Chronicles 20:31-37

Key Verse: "…Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken…" (2 Chronicles 20:37).

The saying that when things are sometimes falling apart, they may actually be falling into place had never been truer as in the case of Jehoshaphat. He began well by doing what was right in the sight of God. But he soon got into a relationship that was headed in the wrong direction. He began a ship-building business with an unbelieving king. The business was doomed as God broke the ships, severed the partnership and made sure the venture never worked. While things fell apart, they were actually falling into the path God wanted for him.

He Always Provides An Escape Route. Pt Two

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: He Always Provides An Escape Route. Pt Two [28/08/2017]

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Read: Jn 3:1-15

At every point in time, God always knows what to do to get his children out of trouble. He knows what to do when men are in confusion in life. He knew that the blood of bulls and goat could not wash away the sin of the world, He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins. When you compare the sin Sodom and Gomorrah committed that attracted God's wrath against them with this dispensation of grace, you will discover that the sin of this generation is more grievous than theirs, yet, God's grace and mercy is sustaining this generation.

Winning Wisdom — One Whole Lump: Marriage 1

Topic — One Whole Lump: Marriage 1 [Monday, 28th August 2017]

Ese Ehimare Dave

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Ephesians 5:25

The union of a man with his wife is mirrored by the union of Jesus Christ with His church. Jesus had to leave His Father's house to come find His bride - the church - and cleave to them, so also does a man leaves his father's house to cleave to his wife. To cleave is to put together two whole lump to form a new whole lump. A new whole lump, not as two different lumps again, but now as one inseparable lump. Genesis 2:24 says: "therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." Marriage synchronizes the man with his wife, just like salvation synchronizes Jesus with His church.

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. - 1 Peter 5:8-9

In the United States, there is an over-the-counter medication advertised as the medicine to take at the first indication of a cold, to keep it from getting worse and becoming full-blown. I take a lot of vitamin C if I have a scratchy throat or a runny nose because it often keeps me from getting worse. Catching something before it goes too far is wisdom.

Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. — Ephesians 4:7

The Christian life is never spoken of in the Bible as a bed of roses. It is uphill, because society is coming one way and the Christian is going the opposite way. But Jesus said that in the midst of your problems, in the midst of your difficulties, He will be there to give you grace and peace. Underneath all the troubles, will be the “still waters” that the Great Shepherd can provide. Many people are trying to steady themselves by taking tranquilizers. Jesus is the greatest tranquilizer of all. He can straighten out your life and put you back on center. Let Him take full control. You’ll go on your way rejoicing, as did those in the New Testament who met Jesus.
