A time will come, however, indeed it is already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is seeking just such people as these as His worshipers. — John 4:23

More than anything else, God wants us to have genuine, pure, fervent love for Him and for others. If we can manage only one thing in our lives, it should be to love other people.

A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear? *That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.

You will never do great things, if you can’t do small things in a great way!

Topic: Oh! Increase Is Coming! [Thursday, November 30, 2017]

Basic Scriptures: Matthew 13:13-32

I heard the vibration of music in my inner ears and the wordings so clear, tinkled in my heart:
Despise not the days of little beginnings.
Little things grow to become big.
Big things turn to bigger things,
And bigger to biggest.
All started from the little!
A child turns a father or a man someday.
Little things must not be despised.
He who despises the little may not see it grow bg.
Despisers of little efforts are effortless!
Respect all little beginnings and despise no little results.

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:” (Daniel 2:20 KJV)

Reading through the account in Daniel 2, it is clear that unlike the astrologers, magicians and Chaldeans who had no answer and had no place to turn to for a solution, Daniel knew he had a God who reveals deep and secret things. The book of Daniel 11:32 (KJV) says, “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel had confidence in God, and he approached the situation from that standpoint. If you truly must leverage on this wisdom, which has been ordained for your glory, then you must be connected to the Father who is the source of all wisdom. Proverbs 2:7 (NKJV) addresses this clearly and it says, “He stores up sound wisdom for the upright…” The upright is the one who is in the relationship and has right standing with the Father.

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings . . . — Philippians 3:10

W.C. Burns of India wrote, “Oh to have a martyr’s heart, if not a martyr’s crown.” Popularity and adulation are far more dangerous for the Christian than persecution. It is easy, when all goes smoothly, to lose our sense of balance and our perspective. The important thing is to walk with Christ, to live for Christ, and to have one consuming passion—to please Him. Then, whatever happens, we know that He has permitted it in order to teach us some priceless lesson and to perfect us for His service. He will enrich our circumstances, be they pleasant or disagreeable, by the fact of His presence with us.

Luke 23:11 "And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate."

All of Christ's sufferings did not end when He finished His earthly ministry.

He still takes the persecution of His people personally as is revealed by His statement to Saul on the road to Damascus: "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" He didn't ask Paul why he was persecuting His people. He said, "Why are you persecuting Me?" When we are persecuted for righteousness' sake, it is actually Christ who is being persecuted.

In Japan, food products are immaculately prepared and packaged. Not only must they taste good but they must look good too. Often I wonder if I am purchasing the food or the packaging! Because of the Japanese emphasis on good quality, products with slight defects are often discarded. However, in recent years wakeari products have gained popularity. Wakeari means “there is a reason” in Japanese. These products are not thrown away but are sold at a cheap price “for a reason”—for example, a crack in a rice cracker.

The word ‘affliction’ is defined by a Bible dictionary as that which causes or tends to cause bodily pain or mental distress; the state of being in pain or trouble. From scriptures, we recognise that the anointing of the Holy Spirit, among others empowers the redeemed to command exploits. For instance, Jesus Christ was a carpenter’s son for 30 years without an identity. However, when He returned in the power of the Holy Spirit, He was loaded with divinity and the Bible records that His fame went throughout all Judea and to the entire regions roundabout. We also saw from scriptures how 120 fearful disciples, who hid in the Upper room after the death of Jesus commanded exploits in Jerusalem and around the world after being empowered by the Holy Ghost (Luke 4:18-John 20:19-22; Acts 2:1-41).

By the law of the first mention, in Genesis chapter 2, the Bible tells us that God made man in His own image and likeness. In other words, we have the life of God. The Zoe type of life is in us. Years ago and even currently, whenever there is power failure, people will scream, “Oh NEPA.” “NEPA” means the National Electric Power Authority. Some even curse the Electric Power Authority. In extreme cases, there have been cases of community boys marching to the NEPA office to beat up its workmen (e.g. during a crucial football match). However, as soon as power supply is restored, you hear shout of jubilation, “UP NEPA!!”The emphasis in today’s devotional is that as a child of God, you have been delivered form the kingdom of darkness. Light has come into your life and whatever is the work or the trace of the works of darkness around your life must not be tolerated or allowed to stay beyond this devotional hour.

In God’s economy, you must go down into the valley of grief before you can scale the heights of spiritual glory. You must become tired and weary of living alone before you seek and find the fellowship of Christ. You must come to the end of “self” before you can begin to live. The happiest day of my life was when I realized that my own ability, my own goodness, and my own morality were insufficient in the sight of God. I am not exaggerating when I say that my mourning was turned to joy, and my sighing into singing. Happy are they that mourn for the inadequacy of self, for they shall be comforted with the sufficiency of God.

“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” (Ephesians 1:6 KJV)

Child of God, stand firm in the love of God. Feed yourself with the nourishment of God’s love knowing that you have been accepted in the beloved. God has accepted you. In Christ, you are the beloved of God. In Christ, you have been set free from the demands of the law. In Christ, the law has been rolled away. Why?  Because as long as the law remains in the way, you cannot enjoy all that God has made available to you in Christ.

Text: Job 34:31-37

Key Verse: "That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more" (Job 34:32).

The courage to make amends is a proof of genuine spiritual transformation and desire for spiritual progress and promotion. Many who have strayed away from home and happiness often delude themselves with excuses and reasons for staying away. But the prodigal son would ever be remembered and commended for his decision to go back home and reconcile with his father – even when he felt he had disappointed his father woefully and as such had lost the status and privileges of a true son (Luke 15:17-22).

Read: 2 Kings 22:1–4, 8–13, Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 30–32; 1 Peter 4

When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his robes. 2 Kings 22:11

When we brought our adoptive son home from overseas, I was eager to shower him with love and provide what he had lacked over the preceding months, especially quality food, since he had a nutritional deficit. But despite our best efforts, including consulting specialists, he grew very little. After nearly three years, we learned he had some severe food intolerances. After removing those items from his diet, he grew five inches in just a few months. While I grieved at how long I’d unwittingly fed him foods that impaired his growth, I rejoiced at this surge in his health!

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 27, 2017 Devotional: Occupy Till Jesus Comes

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily November 27, 2017 Devotional: Occupy Till Jesus Comes

Topic: Occupy Till Jesus Comes [Monday November 27, 2017]

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. - Ephesians 6:13-17

The Bible teaches that as believers, you and I are to occupy until Jesus comes. Occupy is a military term meaning to hold possession, or control, of conquered troops and territory. If we're to do that effectively, most of us are going to have to change our attitudes. We're going to have to recognize that Jesus has already won the victory.

John 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."

Text: John 18:33-37

Christ's kingdom is spiritual, in the hearts of men - not physical; therefore, our fight as Christians must not be with carnal weapons but with spiritual weapons (2 Cor. 10:3-5). Spiritual forces cannot be defeated with human weapons.

Casting down imaginations . . . and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. — 2 Corinthians 10:5

Thousands of people have made plans to escape from the realities of life. A new word has come into common usage the last few years. That word is “escapism.” The dictionary defines it as “a retreat from reality into an imaginary world.” The escape of imagination. Solomon spoke of the unregenerate heart as one which is inclined to excessive fantasy.

Memorise: And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God. 1 Kings 19:8

Read: 1 Kings 19:1-8 (KJV)

1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. — Philippians 3:12

I think we need to be a little more careful than we are with how we live. Not that we have to be so careful that we live in fear, but careful in a godly way, not a legalistic way.
