Wada praised for completing payment for greater water works project


The present administration of Capt Idris Wada has been praised for completing the payment of the Lokoja Greater Water Works Project.

Abu Micheal, Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Deputy Governor, gave the praise while addressing newsmen on the efforts by government in providing potable water to the people.

Mr Abu also lauded the administration's efforts for its commitment to the full payment of the embankment project of the Water Works Project.

The media aide described the efforts of the present administration to improve the provision of portable water to the people of the state, as one that will help reduce water borne diseases in the state.
Mr Abu said aside the N387million paid for the embankment project of Greater Water Works Project, another N1.8billion, accessed from the recently procured bond, he said has been earmarked for water reticulation in Lokoja. The present administration Mr Abu also added is working on 35 other water projects across the state, described water as life, reason for the government's attention.

Mr Abu said the measure to carry out the embankment on the water project would no doubt help cushion the effect of climate related disasters in the state, commended the government's efforts to address water challenges faced by the people.

Mr Abu also lauded the on going embankment of the flood plain in Kabawa area of Lokoja, said the project when completed would not only help check incessant flooding of the area, he said it will protect the area from filth as well as improve the sanitary condition of the area.

Mr Abu further assured of  present administration's commitment to continuously enhance and improve the well being of people of the state, urged for support, cooperation and understanding for the Capt Wada's administration.
