Dear Reader,
So far, we have taken time together to look at the Word of God, as it relates to birthing an enviable marriage. Among other things, we have discussed that God has made available in His Word, the tools needed to make this a reality (Psalms 119:105).
This week, as we round off this teaching, I will be sharing with you what I captioned, Satan’s Interest in the Home. Every successful marriage is a threat to Satan’s kingdom; that’s why he would do anything to destroy it.
Unfortunately, people attribute the crisis in marriages to incompatibility or disagreements, but it’s actually Satan who is behind these woes. He has determined to cause havoc in marriages. He would do anything or pay any price to shatter homes.
Quite a number, even in the Church, are victims of this satanic onslaught against marriages. As a result of this, some wish they were never married, yet God says, “I created it for your good.” Thus, to counteract the activity of Satan in marriages, Jesus’ first miracle was at a wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee (John 2), whereas the first thing Satan did was to destroy a family.
God’s Word says: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Satan’s mission of stealing, killing and destroying is first targeted at marriages.
Until you decide to say, “Get thee behind my marriage Satan”, he will keep hanging around. Quickly let me unveil two important reasons why Satan wants your marriage:
First is to stop you from destroying his kingdom. God’s Word says: How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up? (Deuteronomy 32:30). Satan is aware of this truth of God’s Word, so he launches attack on marriages, to prevent them from being united, let alone destroying his kingdom.
Second is to hinder your prayer. When a man and his wife are at variance with each other, their prayers are hindered, and they are disconnected from God (1 Peter 3:7). The man who opens up his home to malice or discord has blocked his access to God’s blessings. Satan knows this, so he does all he can to see that there is rancour and strife between a man and his wife.
Tell yourself that since you have no intention of entering into another marriage, you will not give Satan a foothold in your home. This decision can only be guaranteed for a life in Christ.
The foundation of an enviable marriage is God. Do you want to enjoy a most successful marriage? If yes, then give your life to Christ. This entails confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
