Dear Reader,
You are welcome to another very interesting time in God’s presence. Last month, I talked about the place of wisdom in choice-making. I said wisdom is the ultimate in making wise choices.
This month as we continue from where we stopped, I’ll be unveiling to you ways on How To Choose Wisely! There are ways that will be of immense help to you, on how to make wise choices. Come along with me as we examine them:
Fear God!
The fear of God must be in your heart, if you want to choose wisely. The fear of the Lord here means to reverence and give Him His rightful place in your life. God’s Word says: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever (Psalm 111:10). The fear of God in you will culminate in choices that will please and bring Him praise and glory.
Be Futuristic!
Take this from me: one night of delight can lead to a lifetime of disaster! Therefore, see beyond now to the later when making your choice. The choices you make definitely make or mar your future. Jesus, our perfect example, was futuristic in His choice, which eventually brought salvation to mankind. We are to follow His footsteps (Hebrews 12:2).
Disconnect From Your Negative Past!
To make wise choices in life, you must consciously disconnect from your negative past. This is one of the greatest traps that the devil puts on the path of believers. Never allow your past to imprison the fulfilment of your glorious destiny. You can turn over a new leaf, and face the future with great hope, by making right choices.
Make the Holy Spirit Your Principal Guide!
A dependable guide is required, to successfully journey through life unhurt, especially when making a choice. Any decision you are making and you feel bound in the spirit, God is not in it (II Corinthians 3:17; Acts 20:22). Therefore, always engage the Person of the Holy Spirit in your decision-making process, and you will be delighted you did.
Choosing wisely cannot be done in the energy of the flesh. The privilege is given only to God’s children. Becoming a child of God entails confessing your sins, and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. In case you are not yet born again and you would like to, pray this prayer with me: “Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today as a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you in Jesus’ Name!
