A Promise For You From Bible Promises:
Topic: Leading with the Fear of God
But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God. Nehemiah 5:15. Read: Neh 5:14-19
Looking at what is happening in our government house this days, misconducts, abuse of offices, compromise and looting, one tends to wonder and ask question if there are no Christians again. This is because, all are birds of a feather that flock together, no difference. Among our top officials, Christianity has been bastardized, they only bear the name Christian but refused to allow the power of the name to have a positive effect in their lives. They seems to fall prey to the wrong philosophy which says, If you cannot beat them,, join them. I belief this philosophy should be refined this way, If you cannot beat them, change them, and if they cannot be changed, walk away from them. As Christians leaders in any capacity, we should always lead with the fear of God and shine His light before men. Matt 5:16
Nehemiah as a governor was different from the governors before him, he didn't ruled over the people, rather, he led them as a shepherd leads his sheep on greener pastures. He became the first that cut down all the daily expenses for the Governor because of the burden of the people. He ruled with the fear of God. You are elected to serve the people, not your family alone and your pocket.
* If you are a Christian leader in government house, show it by leading with the fear of God.
