The government is holding one of its proposed Town Hall meetings in Lagos today. The meeting anchored by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, which is to give Nigerian citizens direct information about the government's policy plans was promised by the Presidency last month.
The Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Hon Babatunde Fashola SAN explained to the invited guests that "the right to know is important in democracy." He promised that the APC-led government was "result driven," and results in his department will be measured by the "numbers of roads finished and results that will translate to energy."
Hon Fashola, a former governor who successfully transformed Lagos State during his tenure blamed the past government for the lack of infrastructure in the country. "We sold crude oil for $100 per barrel for a decade ...We didn't spend our money well otherwise we should not have broken roads today.”
A few weeks ago, the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had said that her government, under former President Jonathan, had no 'political will to save."
Taking to the podium after Fashola, Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi confirmed that he has been given permission by the Presidency to perform a performance audit in his ministry.
He expressed that "there are no special interests; we feel the pains that you are going through but he asked for patience. "The result you are expecting will not happen in one year. If I were in your shoes, I would feel the same way as you but please understand."

Ever since Fashola became Minister all he has done is complain. There's no light, no good road and housing in his over 8 months. He should focus on his duties and quit the blame game. It's a stale tactic

Dr Iweala was the saviour of the Nigerian Economy and Finances. Whatever you see happening now was saved up by her. If not, the Country could have been a deeper shit and mess. There is no element of truth in the argument that Dr. Okonjo-Iweala stated that the government under which she served under has no political will to save.

Where does the negative media mentions emanate from; except as they are fabricated and spread by some her political enemies, Yet, no single law enforcement agency has been able to link Okonjo-Iweala to any unlawful act, Surely, they shall continue to be dumbfounded at how she has scaled through every hurdle and triumph over evil.

When so called experts like you begin to misjudge and misquote, you leave the readers no choice than to deduce you are just one of those attention seekers.

She did not stop there, she also did everything in her power to stop some power hungry and greedy politicians in stealing our funds. Madam Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala more than contributed her quota to the Ministry of Finance.
ReplyDeleteDr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was never a weak or an irresponsible leader. Her doggedness and resilience made her outstanding among her peers. Okonjo-Iweala was never scared of anything or anyone, neither was she the type to hide behind a failed system or use people and circumstances as excuses. Having done and served in all sincerity and transparency, you expect her to admit failure; to what exactly?
